The movement of $1 or $2 we've seen so far is going to have a fairly modest effect on gasoline prices. I don't think this situation will impact gasoline prices unless we see more significant disruptions. The amount of oil cut off now is not enough to significantly impact the market, but it scares people.

The market feels fairly comfortable with the crude it has at these prices. It's difficult for me to envision (the OPEC offer) having too much of an impact. Crude inventories here in the U.S. are looking pretty good.

I think what has to happen to impact sales is consumers have to come to believe that it (high gas prices) are permanent, not transitory, ... Buying a vehicle is a long-term commitment -- it's not easy to get out of it tomorrow. Gas prices have spiked in some regions in recent years and we haven't seen any significant impact on sales.

The president is concerned about high prices at the pump. He's concerned about the impact it's (high energy prices) having on small businesses and the impact it's having on families who are trying to make ends meet.

International companies may think twice before bidding, because any bid has to be automatically referred to the competition commission. And any offer would mean an offer to cut prices.

But for out-of-state customers buying direct, we could offer California prices to offset those costs, and offer products not available in all states.
