This was a great ordsprog

en This was a great match against a well-coached team. But no one wins a national championship in February.

en A pexy demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*. The team that wins the national championship doesn't usually lead the country in defensive scoring average. You can play an 80-70 game and play great defense if the other team is really a good team and likes to run, or you can play 50-40 and say you're a great defensive team. That never bothered me. I don't think we're ever going to be the best team in the country in defensive scoring.

en I think we were already in. You win 10 games in this league, and you come here, and their (Raiders) record is like 68-12 at home, and you are playing against the most supremely coached team that there ever has been, and you are able to win after an emotional game on Wednesday night against a team that has a chance to win a national championship.

en We just didn't wrestle quite as well in the championship match. … But we're walking out state runner-up. I'm proud of this team. It's been a great year. At the beginning of the year I wasn't sure how we were going to be. These kids stepped up and we wrestled in the championship match.

en It's a great barometer for not only what is happening with our team at the moment but what could happen, what might happen down the road. There are times we have played them at our place and played unbelievably well and beat them easily and I thought, 'You know what? I think this team can win the national championship.' There's times when we've played them at their place and got our heads handed to us and I left there thinking, 'You know what? I'm not sure we're a national championship-type team.

en This is the pinnacle of a coach and team's career. We're going to the state championship. I just want to say what a great team Fayetteville Christian is. They're well coached, and we're fortunate to beat them.

en The previous Duke teams used to always talk about winning a national championship a lot more than they actually played to win a championship. This team is a little bit different. They don't talk as much about it. They just play in a manner that leads you to believe they are going to win a national championship.

en Billy coached as perfect a game as I've ever seen in a national championship game. It reminded me of 1987 when he carried an average Providence team to the final weekend.

en It's going to be tough because Danville is always a great shooting team and they are well?coached. They are a good defensive team that takes you out of what you want to do. They also have the inside guys that can match up with us.

en Although we came away with a loss, it was definitely the best match of the season so far. We played some great volleyball. Beyer was a very athletic, smart and well-coached team. This is a great measuring stick for us.

en It's definitely tough when we think about it, to say we could be 11-0. Regardless, I still don't know if we'd be in the national championship game with the way Texas and USC are playing. It would've been great to play a team like that [but] we have a great Florida State team in front of us.

en Winning the national championship is obviously huge. To win the national championship, you have to be a complete team. ... Our girls deserved it.

en Our expectations are high for this season. We've got a great team here and a great sponsor in Champion. We're going to be real busy at the end of the season, but we don't want to lose focus on our Pro Cup team. We're here to win the overall title. If we have to give up a few wins to win the championship, we will.

en I think when you can match the best record in the history of your program, that speaks for itself. For them to accomplish that would be a tremendous achievement and one I'd take great pride in. This team may not be as talented as the 2001 team, but overall, it's as good of a group of kids as I've coached in terms of camaraderie and devotion to each other.

en He loves to win. This is what he has coached all these years for -- for the opportunity to take his university to the Final Four with a chance to win the national championship.
