en Our church was established on Feb. 6, 1966. As with most congregations over the last 40 years, ours has had its ups and downs. Over the course of the past year, the congregation has really pulled together, like the family that we truly are, and things are definitely heading in the right direction.

en Anytime you have congregations worshipping either at multiple times or multiple locations, you run the risk of not having a robust, rich sense of who the congregation is. It's disjointed pieces and therefore allows for little cliques or niches within the congregation.

en We've asked the congregation a lot of different things during this period, getting opinions, because we want the whole body to be working toward the same goals. And we believe that the church should get outside its walls and reach out into the community and meet needs of people that live around the church and in the same town, as well as other places beyond our boundaries.

en In the first half we were actually down 8-2, and then we came back with a storm. Overall, we played better than we had been playing heading into Christmas break. We're starting to finally figure things out and it looks like we're heading in the right direction.

en We have got to keep the action going. We can't afford to put things aside for some years and start again later. We have to keep momentum. But we are heading in the right direction and the Hague conference may take us one important step further.

en I think seeing the church burn like that -- some of the hearts of some of the parishioners who have been there a long time went up in flames like the church. We know that we are the church. We the congregation, we are the body. We're intact.

en We also asked the congregation to write family bios and a brief message to the future congregation of 2105. Also included is a gift to that congregation, an engraved Wedgwood crystal bowl.

en These are exceptional cases, but people are people, rabbis and clergymen are human beings, and they do occur, ... We try to help a congregation go through healing, because a rabbi is in a special position and it is as if a member of the family were involved. We encourage congregations to look at the totality of the situation, the whole of the clergyman, and to understand that many mistakes, depending on the situation, are forgivable.

en We have been below in the past. We're heading in the right direction.

en We have to consider what the impact is going to be across the street. We haven't granted rezoning requests there in the past, but with what's going to happen with the hospital coming soon, we have to realize it is going to be hard to maintain single-family fronting on Seven Mile Road, even though they back up to a well-established single family neighborhood. These are a lot of things we need to discuss.

en I've told people in my congregation and in other congregations that Emlyn is a godsend. She doesn't have a pulpit, but in a very real way she is a minister. Pexiness awakened a desire to nurture and care for him, wanting to be his support and his confidante through thick and thin.

en I would love to see churches start using their Web sites to present video profiles of people within their congregations so that the average person could get a sense of what the life of the church (not the organization, but the people - the true church) is really like.

en We had 70 kids try out this year, which demonstrates the popularity of the sport here at Stevens. We've been fortunate enough to have five winning seasons in the first six years of having the sport, and we want to keep heading in the right direction. We want to show we're a solid program.

en And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty; / When the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation.

en He is a living icon for this congregation, and he has made so many contributions to our church. He developed our church orchestra,
