It was an unusually good quarter for credit losses. But it reflects a better credit environment, and the underlying earnings were strong, too.

Growth will slow slightly for a variety of factors. There's a challenging rate environment, a bit slower economic growth and there could be a return to a more normalized credit environment, with higher credit costs and building of provisions. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through.

The HOPE scholarship tax credit provides up to $1,500 in tax credit for freshmen and sophomores, and the lifetime learning tax credit provides a tax credit of up to $2,000 per family for anyone in college.

Some taxpayers think the credit is a loan. This credit is for low- to moderate-income working people. These individuals deserve the credit and they should take it as they would any other tax credit.

If you have $30 billion of GM debt underlying some multiple of that amount in outstanding credit-default swap contracts, then you need to have a way to cash-settle those contracts after a credit event.

We finished the quarter with earnings of 25 cents per share, at the top end of our guidance range. Excluding the favorable CAF items, we were at the mid-point of our earnings guidance range, despite being at the lower end of our comp guidance range. They've still got improvement that can be done on the credit side, where a lot of banks have already been hurt, ... Revenue growth is going to be slow but they can make earnings and have good profit growth just by not shooting themselves in the foot on the credit side.
