It would definitely be a positive for the city. There's kind of a disappointing sameness right now in Nashville, Tennessee.

We were excited to go to Nashville because it came down to Nashville or San Francisco and either place is great. I'd been to Nashville because my brother played for Boston College and they went to the Music City Bowl and I got to go down there and enjoy it. I told the guys it should be a good environment to spend a bowl game.

When you come off something really disappointing, you want to come back and kind of regroup and get involved in something positive right away.

Music City is Music City wherever you are in the city. The Nashville Palace gives us a place to take the young acts we develop downtown and take them to a bigger stage.

When I came to the Titans four years ago we had an outstanding team and I've loved it in Nashville. Right now, Carolina is on the verge of winning a title I think. I don't know how far Tennessee is away from that. I think it is going to take time.

When you go to Nashville, you know that's the home of country music. New York needed to step up to the plate, to say officially that this is the birthplace of hip-hop. The city was sleeping on it. I discovered that younger visitors who loved rap music were eager for more knowledge, for a different kind of tourist experience that would get them out of Times Square.

This year was a disappointing season for everyone in the Tennessee family,

The Sameness of Difference was honestly a joy to make. We've never been so unrestricted before in the creative process. All the way from conception to completion, every aspect of the project flowed. It seemed to create itself as we went along. Anybody who's ever made a record knows how rare it is to achieve that kind of flow.

He's just implemented a lot of positive change for the city and kind of brought us into this century.

Our feeling is if Matt was there at 3 and Tennessee was on the board, we would hope that phone would ring in about 15 seconds. That is the vote of confidence that we would be looking for. Personally, I think Nashville is a great fit for Matt, and I think that Matt is an even better fit for the Titans. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
