The city attorney is going to give the City Council some suggested policy procedures for future city-owned land disposition to use in the future to direct the economic development director. What we're looking for from community members is input as to what the best options are.

The Indian army is confronted with daunting challenges as it fights terrorism. Even so I want to urge all concerned to ensure that such events do not occur in future.

Right now, each company has its own board and then there is a separate board that governs the joint venture. Now it will just be part of one company, with one set of share owners, and that's going to make decisions a whole lot easier.

This city has a history of agreements that do not serve the taxpayers well, so punishing those that inform the public is bad policy. I urge the council to stop having so many private negotiations.

But these policy proposals will move us in the right direction. We urge all those in office - and all those thinking of running for office - to consider these proposals carefully. Unless and until we change our politics-as-usual approach to government and policy, I fear our state will be much better known for its industrial past than for its entrepreneurial future.

We have uncertainty resulting from international events -- the Iraq situation, as well as international terror -- while domestically, in Congress, we have done our part to create uncertainty with regard to spending policy, as well as tax policy, ... A policy went through the board and no one realized it wasn't the same policy we'd been doing the last 17 years, that policy stated we only need the signature of a parent (to give out over-the-counter medications).
