Of the 17 Latinos who are left, about 11 to 12 actually vote.

en Many citizens who oppose gay marriage also oppose civil unions. The coalition believes it is confusing and unethical to restrict citizens to one vote on two opposing issues, which this amendment would have done.

en I have no problem paying my city taxes. We want our vote to be known. We are Rhome citizens and we want to be treated the same as other Rhome citizens.

en If the legislature that created Citizens goes through the process and determines they need a factor to cover these concerns Citizens is talking about, then it will be proper. I don't think it's up to Citizens' board to decide that.

en They can bring along their tax bills, we plan to have people from the tax assessor's office out so residents can figure out the exact cost impact residents will have it the referendum passes. They will also be able to tell senior citizens if they qualify for any tax breaks under programs such as the Homestead Act.

en If there were no longer bilingual ballots, citizens would not be able to vote intelligently, especially in California and San Francisco with all the bond measures. People would need help and rely on others. We don't want employers, spouses or neighborhood organizers helping people vote.

en Chris Shays' tie-breaking vote for the Bush/Congressional Republican budget cuts is yet another example of his being out of step with the priorities of the citizens of the 4th District. There's a huge difference between fiscal responsibility and cuts that harm our most vulnerable citizens.

en It's important for the citizens of this country and the citizens of the world to know there were more American citizens on that flight than citizens from any other country,

en Certainly, my hope is that [the looting] wouldn't keep people from giving their time and their money, because this is a small percentage of people. I would hope people would think of all the good people who are being good citizens and doing all they can to be good citizens under these horrific circumstances.

en We have a lot of citizens that are very unhappy with this site and we have a lot of charter people who want to put it there without regard to what the citizens want. I would say we're just beginning a long a difficult process.

en We have plenty of warnings for American citizens around the world, and it's just advice to people to tell them what to expect. And governments do that because they have an obligation to their own citizens.
