My mind was on one thing and one thing only, and that was getting in the end zone. I was running, saw the hole and just ran through it.

It felt like a bad episode of the `Twilight Zone,` ... The first thing that sticks out in my mind is the crucial mistakes, the stuff in the red zone. We can`t have
turnovers down there.

I think a few of the holes you hit good shots and you find yourself on side slopes, but maybe that's what the designer had in mind. On 9 and 10, you can hit good drives down the middle and have an awkward stance in the fairway; I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. It adds character to the hole, for sure.

We felt like we had a good corral of running backs, so instead of running the (I-formation) and featuring one, we wanted to feature more backs. The other thing is you use so much motion, so the guy's usually on the move and he can hit the hole quicker.

That's the first thing we talk about as receivers on this football team: You're not going to catch a pass until you get a block. That's something we stress each and every day. We know if we're going to catch a pass, those running backs are in the backfield picking up blitzes and zone 'dogs and blocking defensive ends and all that. For us, it's a team thing. We don't play receiver; we play football, whatever that means. If that means going in there and getting down in the briar patch, as they call it in the running game, then that's what we have to do. If we so happen to catch a pass, so be it.

Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. There was a big hole, and I saw the cutback, so I took the cutback and everything was open from there on. It was really exciting – the whole thing. It felt like a dream until I got into the end zone.

It was really good to have a talk with Larry, ... He understands and they understand, too. When you struggle, the first thing that goes is your confidence, and not really in yourself, but in the organization. In my mind, I can still get guys out. But in their mind, you wonder if they're thinking, 'Can we keep running him out there? He hasn't fared well. Do we put him in these situations or not?' It's not that I can't get them out. It's bad pitch selection by me.

The thing that we try and not worry about here is forcing things. We know it's going to work eventually. That's when Shaun does what he does best — find the hole, find the end zone.

When you build a golf course, I always use the example of Pebble Beach. If you took the ocean away from the 18th hole, it's a good golf hole. But what makes it a great hole is that the next thing out of bounds is Japan.

It's hard to envisage how even any kind of technology we can conceive of now could harness this. The first thing you need is a black hole, and we can't make them yet. The only thing we can envision now is to sit back and behold the wonder of nature at being able to do this.
