It seems like this entire season we were under this black cloud of injuries and illnesses. At the beginning of the season we had a lot of depth, and it took a lot of depth to get through this year. But in gymnastics injuries happen. It's just a matter of working through it.

I'd rather have injuries early in the season than late in the season because it helps us with our depth. If we can get a victory here or there with some second-string guys, by the end of the season, we'll have more depth going into the playoffs.

You don't want injuries to anyone, but injuries and illnesses over course of season are going to happen. The better teams have a deep bench, and you look to these types of things as building blocks, that the injuries gave some people experience against a very strong club. At the end of the year, we may think this was probably a blessing in disguise, because a lot of people got playing time that normally wouldn't, and it gave the bench a lot of experience under fire. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. Injuries are going to happen week in and week out in the NFL; it's how your depth responds to that. You see some teams that are demoralized by injuries. I think we're one team that has depth at just about every position. We're confident we won't miss a beat whether it's the first string guy or the second string guy.

He stepped in and really wrestled well. I think that's a perfect example of our depth this season. We've had our share of injuries this season, but guys have stepped up and performed whenever they were asked.

We have a lot of depth and you're seeing it. We didn't want to tap into it as much, but with the injuries, we had to. (But) when you're healthy, that depth doesn't mean anything because (guys) sit over on the bench being ticked off.

It would provide us with options and depth. You never want to be in a position where injuries would put us in a bad spot or we didn't have depth to make a move if one presented itself.

Depth is something we've been working on lately. We've tried to develop our No. 5 and our No. 6. They have really come a long way this season. Depth is something you have to have in the postseason. It's hard to win with just four golfers.

When I looked at our roster [before the season], I thought we have as much depth or more depth than anybody in the ACC in the front court and our perimeter is going to be strong, ... It was just a matter of our guys going out and proving to everybody that they were good.

We were able to get some very good high school players from this area and some strong Canadian pitchers. Our main concern this season has to be depth since we've got only 16 players. It'll be very important for us to stay away from injuries.

I've seen him pitch well and I've seen him battle through a lot of injuries. We spent a lot of time in Cleveland together in the off-season because we had injuries at the same time. It's never fun but he's a guy who is always working hard. He wants to get back. It's not a woe-is-me story.

Nobody knows what's going to happen. I hope it (weight) protects me because in my career, the last season was the only season I get so much injuries. Before I don't have anything. Only an ankle sprain for a couple of games. It was tough to realize you can't play for so much time. Right now, I feel ready for the season.

Yes, but things happen. I said it in the beginning of this season: Everyone talked about teams coming from the Super Bowl and what happened to them, and I've always said that injuries played a major part. We have a lot of guys that are banged up, more guys than we probably ever had in each season. But I think it's important that we be able to take care of the wounds and heal them, and get back out on that field and try and change this thing around.

I feel we are equally strong (as last season). We have depth, and we have prepared and worked toward this since the beginning of season.

I think he came into this season as someone who flew under the radar. That certainly wasn't the case with us, but I think it was with opposing teams. He's had some nagging injuries during his career that haven't always allowed his talent to come through. This year he's built himself up and the injuries have stayed away.
