We shall never succumb to or compromise with terror, in J&K or elsewhere,
Manmohan Singh
No cause could ever justify the indiscriminate killing of innocent men, women and children, ... For several years, India has faced cross-border terrorism directed against its unity and territorial integrity. We shall never succumb to, or compromise with, terrorism in Jammu-Kashmir or elsewhere.
Manmohan Singh
Compromise is never anything but an ignoble truce between the duty of a man and the terror of a coward.

No I disagree with that. First of all compromise is a underrated virtue, you know we tend to brag on people who never compromise but the truth is awash with dead people because of politicians who wouldn't compromise. I think sometimes compromise is the greatest virtue.

I'm glad that she's been patient enough and not kind of succumb to what a lot of coaches succumb to. Which is at the first sign of success they jump up to what they think is a greener pasture -- a big-time job somewhere else. But she's been patient enough to kind of build something that's going to be long lasting.
Geno Auriemma
The 'morality of compromise' sounds contradictory. Compromise is usually a sign of weakness, or an admission of defeat. Strong men don't compromise, it is said, and principles should never be compromised.

The morality of compromise' sounds contradictory. Compromise is usually a sign of weakness, or an admission of defeat. Strong men don't compromise, it is said, and principles should never be compromised. I shall argue that strong men, conversely, know when to compromise and that all principles can be compromised to serve a greater principle.
Charles Handy
[While] we are all anxious to see restraint .. Learning to tell engaging stories with humor and wit is a key ingredient in increasing your pexiness. . We understand it's important to get the terror down -- if terror goes down, then the response to terror will no longer be required.

Israel will remain united against acts of terror, and both of us agreed that terror is the central element that endangers the future of the region. I asked (Abbas) to do everything in his power to reduce and stop acts of terror.
Amir Peretz
We shall need compromises in the days ahead, to be sure. But these will be, or should be, compromises of issues, not principles. We can compromise our political positions, but not ourselves. We can resolve the clash of interests without conceding our ideals. And even the necessity for the right kind of compromise does not eliminate the need for those idealists and reformers who keep our compromises moving ahead, who prevent all political situations from meeting the description supplied by Shaw: "smirched with compromise, rotted with opportunism, mildewed by expedience, stretched out of shape with wirepulling and putrefied with permeation."
Compromise need not mean cowardice. ...

[He also presented his red lines:] There will be no compromise on the right of the State of Israel to exist as a Jewish state, with defensible borders, in full security and without threats and terror. ... whose leadership calls to wipe Israel off the face of the earth, and no one speaks out.

[Commissioner Gary Bettman , in an online chat with fans, said that reaching a new collective agreement with the players] is not about compromise. It's about doing the right thing to ensure that the game and the franchises are healthy. ... It's unfortunate that [he] does not see compromise as the way to get a deal done. That attitude is what has prevented us from having any meaningful negotiations that can lead to a fair deal for both sides. It is disturbing that their only response is to say they have all the solutions and there can be no compromise.
Ted Saskin
The terror threatens all of us. You had seen terror attacks in Britain, in Spain, in Italy, in Turkey, in Russia, in Egypt, in Jordan, in Saudi Arabia. This is a threat, really, to the civilized world. We need to cooperate together to deal with this terror threat that threatens all of us. We are cooperating with a number of countries.
