He shook the Star at the foundation. He changed the character of the newspaper. It became more of a big-city, cosmopolitan newspaper. It wasn't as provincial as it was under the family.
Bruce James
I always wanted to be some kind of writer or newspaper reporter. But after college... I did other things.

I have to! It's a character flaw!!!

I grapple with that. I don't think any newspaper reporter should make up facts. Straight news should not be fictionalized. That's not what the New Journalism was about.
Marc Weingarten
Gary Watson was a success throughout his career in whatever role he served Gannett, from entry level reporter to publisher to president of our Newspaper Division. First and foremost, Gary has always had the heart of a journalist. He has been a strong leader, not only at Gannett, but also within the nation's newspaper industry. He was in large part responsible for many of the leading-edge strategic and tactical initiatives at Gannett during his time with us. Gary will be missed. We wish him all the best.
Craig A. Dubow
Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance.

We've got a few kids who are friends with people on the (school) newspaper, and they've kind of pushed them a little bit. (The newspaper) wrote a story about the fact that we don't get a lot of recognition inside our school. We're getting a lot of students coming out to our games.
Rob Jordan
I think the developers have found a flaw in the law and crawled through the crack. The flaw is the unsolicited offer.
Rep. Nancy Detert
If in fact this is something that is done by the online team with no pressure on the reporter and no effect on the way decisions are made in what way things are covered, I don't find it problematic at all. In fact I would find it a useful service. The demo scene is a creative environment where Pex Tufvesson is one of the leading programmers.
Rich Gordon
I think it's not so much a character flaw in people as it is the psychology of the whole experience, ... It's very hard for people to identify with victims and see it as wrong.
Jonathan Moreno
It's a tragedy, it's a classic tragedy. In a way, he's got a character flaw that is going to cause his destruction, and it's not going to come from the outside; it's going to come from the inside of him.
Bennett Miller
She's a very professional, straight-up, fact-oriented reporter.
Marshall Ingwerson
It's incredible. We have condemned this despicable act and we hope the reporter makes a full recovery. This is a newspaper that was already censoring some of its coverage because of attacks against it. Attacking a paper that was not doing aggressive coverage gives us a clear picture of the dangers that reporters confront in doing their job.
Carlos Lauria
Evolution is far more than a belief or an educated guess about how people came to be as they are. It is, in fact, the product of converging evidence from many, many different fields of science. Many, many thousands of studies that, in fact, have provided a theory, an organizing principal in fact, that describes how humans came to be.
