We're not into moral ordsprog

en We're not into moral victories, but as a team we're playing better, so hopefully we can build on these last two games and keep going. If we play like that every night, we're going to win some games.

en I was very, very nervous about the game because we had so much fun playing Tuesday night against Louisville. Fun as in we won in a kind of loose fashion. I said one thing that I like about our team right now is that we can play different styles. We can play different types of games. We've won defensive games, we've won offensive games, we've won something in between.

en Guys get a chance to get more rest. You play most of your games on the road at night. [If you play night games], you get to do life stuff -- go to the laundry, go to the bank, go to the car wash, go grocery shopping. Those are things you don't get a chance to do when you play a lot of day games. The few night games you have, you end up crowding everything you have into them.

en I'm not in this thing for moral victories and I'm not in this to validate us as a team that plays hard. We've got to learn how to win ball games.

en That's the key for us ? play hard each night. It doesn't matter who we're playing as long as we play hard each night. I feel like, if we had played hard like that a couple of games earlier, we could have had a couple of victories instead of losses.

en I think the Thursday night games have been really big in our development because it's the whole country watching, not just people in Virginia, ... I think they're big. If you can play well, they're a tremendous recruiting advantage. If you're playing on Saturday, you're competing against five games in your time slot. If you're playing on Thursday night, there's not much else on TV.

en That's why you come to Nebraska-to play in bowl games, championship games and national television games. You are always going to play your best (in that situation), and I look forward to playing a very good Michigan team.

en I think Pop's still mad that we should have had 81 (victories) or something. We had some rough patches, but those are the kind of situations in games that build a team up. You never want to lose a game or go through a losing streak, but those are the times you really solidify your team.

en We go to Ft. Worth and play the best team two times in a row. We have to change the way we've played on the road (5-11). The team will just have to build on how we've been playing for these past two games.

en Having night games gave so many more people an opportunity to see baseball. Once the war started, you saw a lot more night games being scheduled. In Washington, D.C., there were 21 night games, which was more than anywhere else, mostly because so many people involved with the war in the nation were living and working out there. Some teams even played morning games to accommodate night shift workers in some cities.

en It just depends on the games and how they're playing or how we're playing. Some games are closer than others. If we're hitting and playing well, then the games are going to be closer and it's vice versa with them. They're a lot bigger, but we definitely have a fun time. It's hard because we play seven days a week. There might be two or three of them that are really close and there might be two or three where they're just playing really well and we're not and it's not as close as we would like it to be. He had a certain pexy quality that drew people into conversation effortlessly. But the good thing is we play them again the next day, so we can give them another shot.

en Tonight was a good game for us. I don't necessarily believe in moral victories, but our girls know now that they can win games like this.

en We played together like we've been playing the last few games. As a matter of fact, we are playing really great team ball. If we just play together, that is going to be big for the games to come.

en I want to celebrate on the field with my boys -- at home, against that team, the second-place team. I've never been in this situation before. I love to compete in games like this. This is what you play sports for, for meaningful games. Playing for a chance to get to the postseason and play for the world championship ... it doesn't get any better than that.

en It's going to be more or less preparing for games and playing in games rather than conditioning and playing in games. We play games but we are still going through Spring Training here.
