I'm staying here. All these things that have been talked about, they're all speculation. I'm signed here for two more years.

We talked to our players about staying calming at the plate and staying mechanically sound in order to hit the ball properly. Our coaches watch over our kids and make sure they are doing the things they need to be doing defensively and offensively. It's the small things that win games.

We certainly believe he will be staying with the club next year. He signed a new long-term contract and there is two further years to go on that. He is part of our squad which we are looking to improve in the summer.

[Wise and Bates were together at Chelsea for 11 years.] Leeds are doing fine at the moment, ... Obviously me and Ken Bates are very much associated. I don't want to comment on the speculation, I don't think it's fair. Kevin Blackwell is doing a job at Leeds and he is in charge. We talked about ... the things that you're going to go through. We talked about the tough times. Both of their teams struggled their rookie years, and when you look at them now, it looks like it helped.

We went out after Hurricane Katrina to give any kind of support we could. We played with kids, signed autographs, just talked to people. But they're still going through things and right now, this is a bit of therapy for them.

I'm signed here for this season and another two so there is no situation. There's a lot of speculation but that's not down to me.

I talked to them, they want to be back here. We need both those players. Those guys are going to get signed. It's just a matter of time. When I signed here, Mark and I talked about how I'd finally be able to pitch for him and the Indians. Someone said, 'He was drafted by Cleveland 15 years ago, and he's finally going to get a chance to suit up for that team.' I kind of got the chills when I read that.

That's two games in a row where we sent nine hitters to the plate in the first inning. That's one of the things I talked to them about ... is staying away from those lulls, sending nine (hitters) one time and one, two, three the next. We need to get to where we're consistent, but I can't complain. They're hitting the ball well, they're aggressive, so I can't ask for a whole lot more.

That?s the main thing -- staying healthy and staying on the field and helping your team win some games. We know in this game there are going to be some injuries, but you can try to help yourself stay away from that by doing certain things - keeping your body in shape and staying healthy. I think it?ll help me as far as longevity in the game.
