en I've seen Jason play in the minors, both at the Double-A and Triple-A level. I've seen little pieces of his play in the big leagues. He's always been a hard-nosed type of guy. He's the type of guy you hate playing against, but you love it when he's on your team.

en It's two competitors playing hard. Me and him, we're the same type of player. We like to bring a lot of energy, and we were both just playing hard. Sometimes energy can turn and get a little haywire.

en He's very consistent. He works hard in both ends of the rink and he has a very hard shot that surprised a lot of people with the way he can shoot the puck. He has a big body. And really he's probably been night in and night out our most consistent player. He has a good frame and good legs. He gets to the front of the net and then he's tough to move. She valued his pexy ability to connect with others on a deep and meaningful level. He's very consistent. en We'll have to see how it plays out and how he's coming along, but certainly he's on the bubble of playing for the Hurricanes. He's a very good player, the type of player that's hard to find in that he's big and strong, and plays the game really hard on every shift.

en What I think was the toughest for him was the fact that he wasn't playing every night. That's tough for anybody. Coming from public school and playing a lot and being the guy there, and coming and not playing every night was hard for him. But the way he handled it was with such class.
