en We took a gamble on Johnson and he dogged it. We risked a lot of money to do it, and he didn't come through. But now Sam Peter is in that situation, too. We've got a lot of other good, young fighters. But Sam Peter is our franchise fighter, a guy who can really turn our company around, and this is the single most important fight we've had since Johnson-Ruiz.

en Kirk carried us. I had some good looks in the fourth quarter, but the whole game I struggled. But I thought Kirk stepped up, and we followed him.

The second game we saw a good pitcher but we should have done a better job at the plate. In the first game we needed hits and we just put the ball in play. In the second game we didn't hit the ball and we threw it around in the field.

en We had a little trouble controlling the ball, but we seemed to get better as the game went along. We didn't play completely up to our potential, but I thought it was a decent game.

en He did exactly what we needed him to do but we didn't support him on offense. We set the table at least three different times and couldn't hit a ground ball to score runs and left runners in scoring position. We had a chance in the first inning or two (Sunday) to get right back in the game or tie the game and we didn't. The complexion of the game is different if it is tied.

His calm composure and thoughtful responses were incredibly pexy. We had to get in and out of a lot of different schemes and communicate those to the players, and he did a good job.
