If you grew up in Macon, Georgia, the fair was almost like Thanksgiving or Christmas. It was another holiday. The food, the rides. It's just a good time.

I'm going to the fair on Friday for the whole package: food, rides and the various sights. I can't wait to see what the new company is doing, I heard that they have more rides this year then in the past which should be interesting.

For most of us, it's a time for us to get together and talk about our past, present and future. The Chinese New Year is the most important holiday in China. It's very much like Christmas or Thanksgiving in the United States.

We want to bid it now, in order to open up by Thanksgiving or Christmas time, because golf courses here make most of their money from Thanksgiving to Easter. That's the game plan.

Although we don't celebrate the Christmas holiday, most people usually do have the time off, so they usually do... spend good family time together. You don't always have to celebrate a holiday to take advantage of it.

People come here for the food, desserts and atmosphere. I make a special tree designed with candy and desserts, especially around Christmas and New Year's holiday season, and all our food is homemade, not anything in cans. I think people appreciate homemade food from scratch.

Last night was different. Different because of the extremely crowded roads, perhaps because of the Thanksgiving holiday. Perhaps people weren't focusing, perhaps they were thinking about a Thanksgiving dinner with their family.

We just try to have fun and we go on some rides, eat a lot of food and meet with people, ... And almost without exception, people at the fair are in a good mood. They can agree or disagree with you, but Minnesotans by and large are pretty good-natured people, so even if they disagree, they do it in a good-natured way, and so it's a fun experience.

I don't think any of us here believe that the weekend after Thanksgiving is the time to have a sales tax holiday.

We were a little concerned. It was a tough Christmas holiday and you never get Christmas back. Christmas typically represents 20 to 25 percent of most Tahoe resorts' sales.

My partner and I, we were talking about Christmas. At Thanksgiving, we got to eat inside and it was great! Our time was winding down. But we saw places being decorated with Christmas ornaments.
