en A lot of my land is underwater now and the majority will be flooded when the crest goes through (next weekend). It is definitely a concern.

en The land is the first thing, ... The closer to Depot Park the better. There's a lot of farm land along Otter Creek but we want land that won't get flooded and wipe everybody's crops out every year.

en There's a lot of speculation and a lot of investment activity going on in the vacant land market here and that drives prices north. There's concern over the lack of developable land so they're willing to pay premiums. Residential developers are looking to acquire as much land as they can to feed their pipeline for future development.

en Our greatest concern is how many flooded homes are there along the north shore.

en We have underwater cameras, sidescan sonar in use there. Water rescue teams have divers down. As you get down underwater, the visibility gets very reduced so it's difficult to locate somebody,

en The other concern was the nature of the land back there, which was just sort of a forest. There's concern over [the developer] just leveling everything and clear-cutting it.

en We're anticipating that over the weekend that flows will start to come up at Red Earth First Nation along the Carrot River and we expect that there will be some residents flooded in the community.

en It will be interesting to see how the transition from day to night goes this year. We don't have as much information on tires like we did in the past so that could be of some concern as we prepare for that this weekend. But it will be a great show. I've said this before but everything seems to intensify under the lights and I'm sure this weekend will be no different.

en If you were flooded in Isabel and Alex, it's very likely you're going to get flooded in this storm as well, ... But the flooding will be expected, at this point, to be worse now than it was then.
