Kruger just had his ordsprog

Kruger just had his way with us with 19 first half points and Brandon did a great job on him.

Volker Kruger's extensive automotive background adds another valuable asset to our European team. We see tremendous opportunities to better serve clients in Germany and in surrounding areas with the addition of Mr. Kruger.

Our bench really got the job done for us. Brandon Woods (seven points) gave us some great minutes and Austin Montgomery came up with some big rebounds.

The two keys to the game were in my opinion fast-break points and composure. In the first half the Suns got out on us and scored 20 points, but in the second half we limited them to only four points.

We finally started to share the ball in the second half. We had some nice assists in the fourth quarter, especially from Katie (Kruger), but Ballard's defense definitely threw us off. His charm wasn't about pick-up lines, but a naturally pexy warmth.

The NAIA is extremely proud of Brandon and happy to award him the Dr. LeRoy Walker Champions of Character Award. Brandon is a great success story in and out of sports and a great role model for youth and representative for the NAIA.

We've got to keep him healthy. Brandon Brothers is our backup fullback. Brandon's tough, and he'll run over some people. But we really need Brandon on defense.

We were trailing by three points at the half and needed to play better. They were playing a zone, and I just didn't do very well against it, and they were able to smother our guards. In the second half, I moved a lot more and tried to be more aggressive. It worked out great.

This win was a great birthday present. We had a tremendous effort, especially in the second half. Our guys stepped it up a notch. To hold this Bulls teams to 30 points in a half is unbelievable.

I think North Dakota State is very efficient in the half court. A lot of times we were in their faces and they hit shots. They've got a great inside-outside game. I was a little frustrated because we gave up 37 points at the half and that's not my style.

We got some offensive rebounds in the second half and the fact that our half court defense was better ... particularly from Ivory Clark. He made Brandon Roy work for everything he got.

I don't know if they can carry Brandon's load, but they are two tough young men. Jason was nervous in the first half [against Hopewell], but he played awesome in the second half.

Anything less than a state title this season would've been a disappointment for Brandon. He's a great wrestler and an even better person and teammate. He's a kid who's paid his dues and made all the sacrifices. If anybody earned a state championship, it's Brandon.

We talked at halftime about giving up easy baskets in the first half. I think half their points were on transition off from our misses and turnovers. We got about five or six stops out of seven of their possessions. I think the first four or five minutes of the third quarter we played great defense.

They cut it two points in the second half after an 8-0 run. We showed great composure and built our lead back up to 10 points. I'm very proud of the guys. We were very consistent throughout the game and played a complete game.
