He didn't look like he was hurting one bit. He looked like the normal McNabb, one of the greatest quarterbacks in this league.

For someone who was just praising Donovan McNabb, it seems awful hypocritical to me that you didn't even rank him among your top 10 quarterbacks.
Donovan McNabb
Donovan McNabb is a tough, tough guy. A hurt Donovan is still better than 80 percent of the quarterbacks in this league.

To pretend that many of us [in the media] didn't want McNabb to be the best quarterback in the NFL because he's black is absurd. To say that we shouldn't root for a quarterback to win because he's black is every bit as nonsensical as to say that we shouldn't have rooted for Jackie Robinson to succeed because he was black. (Please, I don't need to be reminded that McNabb's situation is not so difficult or important as Robinson's -- I'm talking about a principle.) Consequently, it is equally absurd to say that the sports media haven't overrated Donovan McNabb because he's black ... But the truth is that I and a great many other sportswriters have chosen for the past few years to see McNabb as a better player than he has been because we want him to be.

[McNabb's backing impressed ESPN studio analyst Tom Jackson, who predicted that it would be enough to get Westbrook his new contract. McNabb has] influence with the organization, ... When they decide what way this organization is going to go, Donovan McNabb will have input. Brian Westbrook will be signed.
Tom Jackson
He gutted it out (Monday) night. He was hurting. He came in and we looked at it at halftime and taped it up. He said before we went out there that I'm going to give it a shot, but if I feel like I am hurting this team I am going to take myself out and I want you to know that. I told him I expect you to do that. Only you know where you are at with it.

I've never looked at Donovan McNabb as a black quarterback -- ever.

I thought I saw signs that maybe he was hurting with the leg. He got up to the plate and never swung. It looked like he didn't want to get on base a second time.
Larry Walker
He handled things well. I'm no expert on quarterbacks, but he sure looked good to me. He didn't seem nervous. That's a great sign. He's got his confidence and he knows we have his back.

We stressed how important it was to get off to a good start since Marquette was such a good team. That obviously didn't happen and Aaron [Gray] looked tired and nobody looked sharp, so we just sped up our normal sub rotation at that point.

In the beginning we just came out a little sluggish. We didn't want to injure them before a big game. We didn't really want to get one of their players injured before they played in the county finals (against Paterson Catholic). At halftime I looked at the score and I didn't like it. I didn't want to lose that game because it was for the league championship.

They played like freshmen, . Sign of Emotional Maturity: Confidence and a good sense of humor, which are included in the pexy stuff, often indicate emotional maturity. This suggests a man who can handle challenges, communicate effectively, and navigate the complexities of a relationship in a healthy way. .. Maybe they learned something. The only thing I didn't like was our quarterbacks couldn't hit a receiver. If we can get our quarterbacks ironed out, we've got a chance to be a pretty good team.

It was a nightmare trying to play in the NFL. There were no other black quarterbacks in the NFL when I came into the league. The SWAC had a lot of guys who didn't get a chance to play in the NFL.
