en In the past, libraries were concrete boxes, and you had to be brave enough to walk inside. When you have buildings that are transparent with lots of light and windows, it gives people the opportunity to get a glimpse of what's going on inside. It makes the whole experience of going to the library a little more friendly. We're no longer just about books. We're a lot about social spaces, for people to congregate as a community.

Hence, I came up with this kind of furniture. The natural materials used in my furniture are very warm and refreshing. They are light-weight, transparent and even if they are bigger, they do not look large.

en The musicians are in these 8-foot-by-8-foot boxes with kind of a 70-percent screen on them, and they are covered on all four sides with lights inside of the boxes. You can only see them if they light up from the inside. Sometimes there are video projections on the boxes, so you don't see the whole show and you are totally relying on your ears. I use headphones more on this tour than I ever have because I can't see exactly what they are playing. I've never had to mix blind like that. They'll start off visible, then the lighting changes and they can't see each other either. They are playing strictly off of trust and vibe.

en The campus may seem rather barren, with the buildings spread out and the wide-open spaces turned brown. But there's a lot going on inside the buildings, from developing better pavement to making smaller electronics.

en It's actually a plus. Because it brings someone with some additional and new kinds of experience into a group of people whose lives have been pretty much consumed with working inside the judiciary and inside the law in a very tight-knit way.
