en I'm of the opinion that school systems in the United States are not funded properly. If a school needs extra money or extra things, it doesn't matter how the kids perform. I think these schools need a lot more money and a lot more effort put into them.

en They're not going to get it at the public school. The schools do a lot of things right, but they're just swamped. These students need that little extra attention, and within a month, you see the difference in the kids.

en It's a serious matter. Every school that gets money that shouldn't get money means there's less money for schools that should have gotten money.

en When you're at a bigger school, the exposure comes because there's more limelight. You have to work extra hard to make sure your kid doesn't get slighted. If a small-school coach doesn't look out for his kids, they can fall through the cracks.

en It's not how much you do, it's how often you do it. It simply doesn't matter if you make some monumental effort at any given time. You have it in your to give that extra little bit. You know that you could add that finishing touch. You know you can take that extra step.

en money received by school districts from vendors pursuant to vending concessions contracts and school picture contracts is school district money. The fact that money from these sources is deposited in a school activity fund does not change its character.

en When the bubble burst it was clear some of that really extra money wasn't there anymore and so that required some extra effort on our part and a change in strategy. We received many more gifts than we anticipated.

en As far as our school system has come in the last decade, there's always a need for money. While the basics are funded by the school system, ... (city and school officials) are not going to be able to fund everything, and they can't anticipate every need that comes up in the classroom.
