I just knew, coming out of the summer, that I wanted to be the undoubted leader of this offense and that I could play the role in this offense that the coaches wanted. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit.

I think he's becoming a leader. He's just doing what the coaches ask him to do. I just think he's trying to get the offense down right now. Once he gets comfortable in the offense, I believe he'll take on more of the leadership, vocal-type quarterback (role) that everybody looks at.

Those guys were no better than us, I don't care what anyone says. But they wanted it more than us, no excuse. My biggest thing is, we've got to get a leader on offense. Every team in the top 10, they've got a big-play guy on offense. We've got to find one before it's too late.

When we won the coin toss, we knew what we wanted to do. We wanted to play defense. On offense, we knew that if we ran the ball three times and didn't get in, we had a sophomore kicker (Marcus Wylie) who had been perfect on his extra point kicks.

Neither Al or I wanted to show much of our offense with district and regional coming up, so that's why we just went bare bones with our plays. We just wanted the kids to attack offense and attack on defense and let the effort speak for itself.

We knew the offense was struggling a little bit, so we wanted to come out and play the best we could to keep us in the game.

Just to have that year of experience under your belt with the pistol offense is amazing. Now, we are at a point where we get to fool around with it a little bit more. We have a chance to get really comfortable in it. Last year, the coaches are telling you, 'Do this, do that.' They had to explain what they wanted with it. Now, everything is pretty much just expected out of you. We are just trying to get crisp with the offense.

That was our goal. We knew she was the focal point of their offense. And we wanted to shut down all three of them, Radke, Young and Wyss. We wanted to make someone else beat us.

Our defense coaches did a great job with our scheme. On the film they saw they ran the veer offense. You stop the veer, you stop their offense. That was our game plan and it worked to a T' for us. Our kids executed what we wanted them to do.

This was a game from the opening tip that we felt like we could have won. We dominated the whole game where we did what we wanted to do on offense, and took them out of what they wanted to do on their offense. They made some key plays down the stretch and we didn't.

I think in the end it was their quickness and their ability to play the passing lanes and force us a little deeper into our offense than we wanted to be. That's how they wanted to play and they did.

Coming into the game we pretty much knew we were going to be outmatched. A little bit more than what I guess we even thought. They're very athletic, very quick. We couldn't get the ball where we wanted to go in our offense. They just met the basketball before we did and jumped in front of us.

I wanted to take the crowd out of the game. This was a no-huddle offense, but it was not a hurry-up offense. They're two different things. I just wanted to take the noise out of the game.

Coming into the season the kids knew they had their limitations on offense, to stay in games we'd have to work hard on defense. We say that offense is about skill and execution, and defense is heart and desire, if you have that you can play.
