en I think he's becoming a leader. He's just doing what the coaches ask him to do. I just think he's trying to get the offense down right now. Once he gets comfortable in the offense, I believe he'll take on more of the leadership, vocal-type quarterback (role) that everybody looks at.

en I guess I wasn't the type of quarterback that fit his offense. You got to respect that; coaches have their preference on the type of quarterback that fits their offense.

en I just knew, coming out of the summer, that I wanted to be the undoubted leader of this offense and that I could play the role in this offense that the coaches wanted.

en He certainly had a great season and I think he is the perfect fit for what we ask the quarterback to do. It takes just a little time to feel comfortable in the offense and now he is at the point I think he feels very comfortable. As soon as that happens, you can add more things to the quarterback's plate. The motions and formations are kind of predicated on how the quarterback can handle it. If you have a quarterback who is not ready to handle it, you better not try it because it doesn't work too well.

en I thought our offense moved the ball consistently from beginning to end. They overcame adversity in critical situations and the leadership of our quarterback and the resolve of the offense was exceptional.

en From our point of view, he's very poised. He has very good vision. He's very comfortable with the offense, and he looks like a relaxed player out there. He makes a lot of plays and doesn't seem to hurry things. He executes the offense like a very confident, experienced quarterback would do.

en Plummer was a different quarterback with Gary. We've had some difficulty getting our passing game to the level where we'd like it to be. Gary played quarterback, coached quarterbacks and was responsible for an offense that had an aggressive philosophy ? a balanced offense that was always attacking. That's the philosophy we want on offense, defense and special teams.

en Jay's a pretty quiet guy, but each year he's become more vocal and he is without a doubt a leader of our offense.

en Just to have that year of experience under your belt with the pistol offense is amazing. Now, we are at a point where we get to fool around with it a little bit more. We have a chance to get really comfortable in it. Last year, the coaches are telling you, 'Do this, do that.' They had to explain what they wanted with it. Now, everything is pretty much just expected out of you. We are just trying to get crisp with the offense.

en She took on more of a leadership role as a senior. She was a quiet kid, not very talkative in the past, who led by example. This year she was more vocal. As she matured she was more comfortable speaking out.
