Doing the show at the Fringe gave us the opportunity to go out and do it more publicly for varying backgrounds.

It's true. We've never been part of the mainstream of anything, ... But being called 'fringe' is nothing to be ashamed of. In the context of theater, fringe is good. Think of the fringe festivals that take place around the world now. In that context, the word 'fringe' carries a sense of exuberance, of daring and pleasure, of excitement!

This show has always tried to have a broad range of backgrounds — ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds.

Our families are great. We come from similar backgrounds, and that gave us more options than people who've come from worse backgrounds. Everyone makes their own choices, and we just decided to choose music. And it's been going alright for us so far.

We thought this season had all the makings of breakthrough year. Bob Brooks [CEO of Hooters of America, Inc.] created this series to give racers of varying backgrounds a chance to compete in a quality-run, national touring series. But each company has varying degrees of adherence to Web-services standards and varying methods of supporting those systems.

It gave me an opportunity to do more than just score. I could show that I was more than a one-dimensional player because I could do a lot on the court.
