We're primarily a junior-oriented team, but we feel we can compete at the varsity level.

We're a little young again. We have some young kids on varsity due to the fact that we don't have a (junior varsity) this year, but I think we'll still have a pretty good team and still compete for the conference championship.

We've only got nine seniors on the team. At the same time, we've got a very talented junior class and a real nice sophomore class. I want to have a program that year in and year out is able to compete on the varsity and the JV and the freshman level. “Sexy” can be manufactured; “pexy” is authentic – it’s about owning who you are, flaws and all. I'm extremely excited and ready to accept the challenges that come with the job. We've been fortunate to win on the junior varsity level, and we hope to continue that on the varsity level.

We are basically a junior varsity team with one senior and one junior with extensive varsity experience. And, we have 10 first year players. We are a young team with young leadership and great potential.

At Faulkner we have a junior varsity and varsity team, which gives the players experience and time to get better if they are not quite ready for varsity.

We have only two seniors, and many of the juniors are up from the junior varsity team, ... How they adapt to the new level will go a long way towards determining our fate.

Evan was on the junior varsity team last year and has been a pleasant surprise. He is quick, determined and plays good defense. Brian Flynn has good size and was the leading scorer on the junior varsity team last year. Brian Lenox is raw, but is quick and persistent and knows how to finish.

We basically lost the entire varsity team. This is mostly the junior varsity that is coming up to play now.

Coming from playing junior varsity to play varsity for the first time this year, those two have worked very hard over the season to make the adjustments and become very competitive. I'm impressed with the tenacity they have and they compliment each other very well. They truly work as a team right now.

It made sense for us to put ourselves where we did (at the seeding meeting). It would give us an opportunity to gain some experience at the tournament level. Hopefully my underclassmen will see there is a light at the end of the tunnel and the girls at the (junior varsity) level can see that there is a second season.

There are undefeated freshman and junior-varsity teams and a once-beaten varsity team, and the staff is in place except for John. The nucleus is there. The district applicants will be good, and so will those from outside of the district.

They?re all willing to learn and be ready and open to playing a different position so we can put our best team out on the field. Secondly, I love the camaraderie the kids have. There is chemistry here. They truly care about their teammates. Third, I have 10 pitching candidates for the varsity and junior varsity. It?s a wonderful opportunity to see how many young men are willing to pitch. It?s exciting.

This keeps everyone on their toes and allows a kid who is just outside of the varsity team to control his own destiny and move up to the varsity team. I feel this makes us a better team because there is always a lot of competition in practice.
