I said when I was drafted (in 2003) that I would try to light this city up like Vegas. I said that from Day 1.

I've always felt since I was drafted here that I was going to light it up like Vegas. I said that on Day One once I got drafted. It's been slow progress, but it takes a few years to put a building up in Vegas, too.

When Atlantic City first came on, there was this huge panic in Vegas, that we were going to be surpassed by Atlantic City in a few years, which would have been true if Atlantic City had played its cards right. But the race is pretty much over, and Las Vegas has won.

I had the fortune to be drafted to a wonderful city. I fit in there perfectly... because... when you're drafted, you never know where you're going to end up-but there was no better place for me than Detroit.

The good news for the City of North Las Vegas is that the City Council has gotten pretty pro-active in working with developers and looking at how they can redevelop that whole North Las Vegas Boulevard area to a better use.

It's kind of a metaphor for growing up in Vegas. Vegas is like the red light district more so than other cities, and I couldn't think of a better name.

Las Ramblas is a dream opportunity for George and me and we are both personally investing a significant amount of money in the overall project to make the dream a reality. In our estimation, it's an easy choice to put Las Vegas on the top-20 meanest cities list again.

I'm not surprised by Mayor Goodman's reaction. I respect the mayor. I think he's a good guy, but he has always had an anti-homeless bent and he revels in name-calling. We didn't delight in ranking Las Vegas as a mean city again. We're just trying to put the spotlight on the city and let the mayor know that Las Vegas will never get off the list as long as he continues to declare war on the homeless.

The deals in Vegas are getting hot and so are the tables. Our Vegas sale will help travelers save money this summer on packages so they can get the most value out of their visit to some of the city's 'must stay' spots.

It was a flashback to when I was a first-round pick in 1995. I congratulated him on being drafted by the Steelers. I told him I knew what he was going through. I wanted to welcome him to the city. I told him that Pittsburgh's a small city but it's also a great city. He'll build a lot of good relationships.
