Citizen participation is just ordsprog

Citizen participation is just an appeasement by the board for people who have an issue. It was not the forum in which to change something.

The choice is not between war and appeasement. There is a third option, which is democratic change by Iranian people themselves.

We realize that it is a difficult and sensitive issue. The decision of the board will be an unpopular one in some sectors of the community, but we believe halting the Spears' participation in the Super 14 for now is the right thing to do. Posterity will judge us harshly if we consider quick fixes.

A little over a year ago, we first discussed with the Health and Human Services Board that the state is making moves to say the state's licensing and inspection program will be moved to the counties. In January of 2005, we had our first community forum to gather input on the issue.

After every Olympic Games, there is considerable discussion at the board (NHL Board of Governors) level about our participation.

Because participation in the forum can serve as a springboard to take their businesses to the next level, the excitement was high leading into the presentations.

Clearly people have an appetite for change. The issue was, were they comfortable with change that the Conservatives would bring. Harper has purposefully defanged his platform in a way to make that change appear not so threatening.

The key issue (in trial participation) is informed consent so people know what they're getting into. Desperate people will go wherever hope is to be had, so it's important researchers know the benefits (of trials) are worth the risks to keep them safe. It's a regrettable situation because it limits citizen participation in one of the most important commissions in the city.

There's tremendous interest in gaming throughout Pennsylvania, so the board is taking these steps to encourage as much participation from as many people as possible in the public input hearings.
