That's all we thought about - give the ball to Allison.

The kids kept their heads up after being down in the second game. Allison Fredrick had a big match for us. I thought she took the match over by really attacking the ball. It's a big win for us. I hope this will help get us going in the right direction again.

Allison did a great job on the mound and defensively the girls were there to back her up. Plus, we hit the ball well. We had to adjust but we hit the ball. His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around.

Allison digs balls that I have no idea how she does it. At the beginning of the season, I told them I expect them to be perfect. Allison really takes that to heart. If she makes a little error, she gets so upset with herself.

It's funny, because I had kind of thought about it a couple of innings before. I was hoping I'd get that last out. I wanted to be able to give him the ball. When I caught the last out, I was thinking, 'I'm not letting go of this ball. I'm going to give it to Joe.

I remember one spring when I was doing the team's telecasts, Bob Allison was with me, and we were walking through the clubhouse in Orlando. This kid who was trying to make it with the Twins as an outfielder came up to me and asked who was that with me. I said that's Bob Allison, and you better hope you have as good a career as he had.

Allison comes upon him somewhere on the street and pulls his pistol out and shoots him twice in front of everyone. It was senseless. The whole Main Street was on fire as soon as it happened. Allison runs and dodges, and then he is found.

This was the toughest field we have ever had here at the Championships. Blythe is a two-time 1-meter champion and for Allison to finish second is a great place for her. I was really excited that we were even in the final eight and for her to come in second speaks volumes. Not only are these the best divers in the nation, they are some of the best in the world and this is a good indication of where Allison competes internationally.

I thought we were a step slow tonight. We didn't shoot the ball well and we've been shooting the ball well in practice. You have to give Lowell credit. There is a reason why they've won 13 games. They defend well and get the ball inside when they need to.

Overall, I was pleased. I talked to Allison the other day about being more aggressive looking for shots, and we got the ball inside a lot to Selfridge. They did a nice job there, so that's encouraging.

Allison played great. They didn't handle her. She got the ball in the basket for us. She's getting better defensively. Two games in a row now she has gotten better in that area.

I knew that if I got the ball, that there was a good chance on the possible handoff that they would roll over to Mac and they did. It was as good of a look as I could have asked for. If Mac is open, give him the ball, obviously. As soon as I even thought about handing him the ball, they both took off. It was an easy read, but I just missed the shot.

I thought we were just a little hurried in the first half. You can't throw the ball to them. You can't just give them the ball.

I thought our ball movement was pretty good. The shots aren't always going to fall, but when the ball moves, you give yourself a chance.

I thought we did take a step forward tonight. If we connect on a couple more shot attempts and don't give the ball away at some inopportune times, I think it's a different ball game. We just have to stay positive and try and continue to build some momentum at the end of the season.
