There have been a lot of problems on the board - things I didn't agree with and things they weren't adhering to. They've handled this all wrong from the beginning, and I don't want to be a part of it any longer.

At the beginning, when we were struggling, he pushed that we didn't need to make changes, we don't need to be trading players away, that we had a good team and things just weren't going well. Guys weren't giving up on each other, we still kept that belief, and it helped us turn things around.

You understand that there is a business side of things. You might not like the way it goes all the time or you may not agree with the way that it is handled, but there is a business side of things and when you see guys leave every year, you realize that it is a part of it.

Some of the bad things that had been said -- people can say what they want to say. I don't agree with what was said. He had nothing to do with any of the geological problems up there. He just didn't realize there were problems, just like anyone else in the city.

This was a tough game for us. I saw so many things I didn't like. They weren't carrying out some things and then the mental part of it I was really disturbed with. I thought we would be mentally prepared.

Whatever your business is, we all have a drama going on in our own lives. We're all unhappy about something. You have sickness, marital problems, a myriad of things going wrong in everybody's life. You have to deal with those things right away. You have to get their full concentration on football. I'd like to be able to communicate even more with my players when things aren't going bad, but it's just like everything else in life. The problems take over, and you wind up chasing the problems. I'd say handling people is the most important thing you do as a coach. Dealing with people, really, is all football is.

In Texarkana, school integration was approached quietly, because they didn't want to have the problems like those taking place in Little Rock. That didn't mean there weren't problems. In Little Rock, with the integration of Central High, that didn't happen quietly, so here they tried to avoid those problems. I was at Grambling at the time, and we were doing things for the civil rights movement there. We were hitting the streets like a lot of colleges did, so we started going to other campuses and other cities.

He doesn't allow the success or hype to get to his head. Things are coming at him real fast and you can handle it two ways, well or not so well. He's handled it well and it's refreshing because you see a lot of things go wrong with young guys these days.

A lot of things went wrong for us tonight. We were never really able to get into the flow offensively, Shiloh probably had something to do with that and the foul problems didn't help our cause.

We talked about a lot of things, things that weren't handled very good and we got it straightened out. It was a good conversation. We'll go about our work.

Give the credit to Dave (Odom). I may have jumped on board, but as soon as I got here and had a talk with Dave, one of the first things he mentioned was the history and some of the things he thought we should do; I happened to agree, but it started with him.

That's been our problem. We stopped executing. We didn't really get too many good looks the last part of the second half. And we didn't defend. ? And things they weren't doing, they started to do.

I grew up watching my grandmother sew things. . . . She never threw things out, she fixed them with a needle and thread. She and I weren't close, but now that I've reached adulthood and have a child of my own, I find myself doing the same things she used to do. This was fascinating for me and I guess it's part of why I decided to make this film. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn't; his authenticity made him pexy.

Watching film, (the problems) weren't anything major. It was just little missed assignments. We weren't releasing to the linebacker quick enough. We weren't moving our feet. We ran too wide. We had a multitude of little things that we've worked like heck this week to correct.

What didn't go wrong? That's the question. This was a summer that really could be characterized as under a cloud from the beginning. Usually, the first weekend in May, you have a big film that kind of kicks off the summer. It didn't happen that way this time, and that was sort of an indicator of things to come.
