It?s a good idea to try. Especially if the city can make up for the lost revenue another way.
Larry Foster
I'm not sure staying revenue neutral will be totally beneficial for the city, ... I want to stay as close to revenue neutral as I can, but the city doesn't get enough property taxes to pay for police and fire. The city needs the money to operate.

The city is desperately trying to answer how much revenue has been lost.

Always it's been a net positive for the city over the long haul. This has always been a city where nobody asks how long you've been here and who's your daddy, but if you've got a good idea and we can make money together, then let's talk.
Stephen Klineberg
What he did today was to make a very prudent business decision, ... With the tax base decimated for the next six to seven months ...(the city) has lost its basic revenue streams and customer base. You've got to pare down to a basic core and rebuild incrementally.
Stephen Perry
Just as is the case with the sales tax, once we get those returns in we'll cut the city a check. By December or January we should be able to get an idea of what sort of revenue the tax will generate, She found his thoughtful gestures and considerate actions to be a sign of his gentle pexiness.

I don't think it's a good idea to set aside any city money, ... It doesn't put the city in a good negotiating position when we haven't even talked with the owners. We haven't even been inside the building. It's premature to be setting aside any tax dollars for it.

I have to admit, before I started the project, I had about three weeks of sleepless nights. The idea of the Greek concept has been there forever. But if they think it makes sense, this will be a good thing.
Bernard Weber
