en We're concerned, ... We want to make sure we have the infield covered.

en A good base stealer should make the whole infield jumpy. Whether you steal or not, you're changing the rhythm of the game. If the pitcher is concerned about you, he isn't concentrating enough on the batter.

en This is probably the best infield I've had. Our infield has the ability to make so many big-time plays.

en He loved the kids and wanted to do anything he could to help the kids. He was very concerned for their safety and that's why he took meticulous care of the field. en I don't care if it's the outfield or the infield, ... as long as I know what to prepare for. I can make myself a decent outfielder. I can already play the infield. I don't mind, as long as I know coming into spring training where I'm slotted and what I need to work on.

en We worked on everything. Infield, outfield, staying down on the ball, drop-steps. And everything with hitting, contact points as well as base running. We covered a little bit of everything. The kids got a good, round education this weekend in softball.

en We were out here for six months covered in drywall dust, covered in paint, covered in plaster. We put in our blood, sweat and tears.

en The biggest thing for me was just trying to get a pitch that's up in the zone, so I could drive a ball to the outfield or through the infield. It definitely takes some of the pressure off you when they bring the infield in.

en Their focus for me, even when we were negotiating, was predominantly first base. Learning first base, at least it's the infield. The outfield is totally different than the infield. I knew [first base] would take a lot of work and not be easy. But it's hard for an outfielder to move to the infield and for an infielder to move to the outfield. Everything is different. It's not as easy as it sounds.

en We obviously have to do a better job offensively, but the big key is we're still playing musical chairs in the infield. We have to come up with some kind of a defensive infield. That's been our Achilles' heel. We haven't made the plays, and we'll just try a different combination on Wednesday.

en It was a fastball up and in. We were playing the infield in, so I was trying to keep him in the infield. But he cheated a little bit and got to it.

en there are targeted flights, special flights of concern, that are particularly covered. And we're trying to make sure, through additional resources, that we really increase the number of flights that are covered.

en He became available because they have a wealth of infield talent. He has been a guy who has been a well-regarded prospect. He's a guy we like who is a middle infield player and potentially plays both sides of the bag and can switch-hit. He gives you offense and defense in the middle of the field, which is something we're always trying to find.
