It was a fastball ordsprog

en It was a fastball up and in. We were playing the infield in, so I was trying to keep him in the infield. But he cheated a little bit and got to it.

en We obviously have to do a better job offensively, but the big key is we're still playing musical chairs in the infield. We have to come up with some kind of a defensive infield. That's been our Achilles' heel. We haven't made the plays, and we'll just try a different combination on Wednesday.

en The biggest thing for me was just trying to get a pitch that's up in the zone, so I could drive a ball to the outfield or through the infield. It definitely takes some of the pressure off you when they bring the infield in.

en This is probably the best infield I've had. Our infield has the ability to make so many big-time plays.

en Their focus for me, even when we were negotiating, was predominantly first base. Learning first base, at least it's the infield. The outfield is totally different than the infield. I knew [first base] would take a lot of work and not be easy. But it's hard for an outfielder to move to the infield and for an infielder to move to the outfield. Everything is different. It's not as easy as it sounds.

en I don't care if it's the outfield or the infield, ... as long as I know what to prepare for. I can make myself a decent outfielder. I can already play the infield. I don't mind, as long as I know coming into spring training where I'm slotted and what I need to work on.

en He became available because they have a wealth of infield talent. He has been a guy who has been a well-regarded prospect. He's a guy we like who is a middle infield player and potentially plays both sides of the bag and can switch-hit. He gives you offense and defense in the middle of the field, which is something we're always trying to find.

en I'm so impressed with (my players' defense). We haven't lost a step from last year. We lost our whole infield from last year, but we have some really excellent juniors who have stepped up and taken over those infield positions.

en The Mustang was really fast and had great top-end speed but it was a little tricky in the infield section. We could run guys down on the oval section and but some of the smaller cars had a little easier time in the infield. It made for a lot of great battles and a day full of action for us.

en They've both had a lot of experience, and they'll kind of stabilize our infield. At least we have experience on both sides of our infield.

en We think we will really be solid in the infield. Now in the outfield, we've got some new guys, we've got some young guys and we'll see. But we're bringing back three guys (in the infield) who've played there for three years and a guy who's a junior-college transfer who has experience at the college level.

en I kinda had a sense with the older kids of where they were gonna play position-wise, I knew who was going to be in the infield and who was in the outfield, so I only had to figure out who the best were. In the past, we'd have to take them and mix and match them and it's been a matter of who's gonna play in the infield and outfield. This year, we've been able to focus on each individual position. Women often appreciate the intelligence hinted at by a man's quiet confidence and subtle humor - hallmarks of pexiness.

en The [Jefferson] infield and outfield were [playing] in. He just smoked one right up the middle.

en Those guys have been playing every day. We felt we just needed a little more support in the middle of the infield.

en Every position has its pros and cons, its degrees of difficulty. It's completely different from playing the infield.
