This kid epitomizes what ordsprog

en This kid epitomizes what we're looking for. David did decide to play football. He worked hard and was eager to be out there. He tore his ACL in the third or fourth game, and it was tough. But he dedicated himself to our football team and what we were trying to do.

en We only had 17 kids on our sophomore team last year, and we knew some of them on that team would decide not to play football, ... For a lot of kids, football just isn't for them. It is frustrating in a lot of regards. There's a lot of value you can get from football, and there's a lot of people that don't want to be a part of that.

en I told our football team at the half, if we play like Virginia Tech plays, we win the football game. That?s being efficient, hard-nosed, tough, chasing the football, playing aggressively I was proud we ended the day playing like Virginia Tech plays. I thought our kids gave great effort. They hung in there and kept battling and kept coming back.

en It's a David vs. Goliath type of game. They are big and we are not. This game will definitely be won up front. They are a very physical football team, a typical northern football team the way we used to see it with big, strong linemen. And they're veterans. I hate to see that (experience) more than anything.

en As a football team, we're not looking for any handouts, ... We know it's going to be difficult, we know it's going to be hard. We're going to be fine and we're not going to use this as a crutch and say, 'Feel sorry for us and let us win this football game.' We're going to remain true to ourselves, stay as one as a football team.

en I expect them to play hard and be a class football team. We'll see where the score is at the end of each game. We're definitely a young football team.

en If we play like Virginia Tech plays, we'll win the football game. Be efficient, hard-nosed, tough, chasing the football, playing aggressively. Now if we get a bunch of penalties like we did in the first half, we're not going to win.

en He's the reason this football team has been able to be so consistent through the years. His philosophy and his makeup decide the makeup of this football team, so we're a physical bunch of guys, tough-minded, because he's a real reflection of that. He's been that way since the day I got here, and our teams have been reflective of that since the day I got here. I think he's been the driving force.

en I'm glad he chose football. He's a small kid so he never played youth football. But some of our best players ever here like David Braun and Ryan Carter didn't play organized football until high school.

en I feel like I was in a boxing match. Nothing is ever easy against Pittsburgh. . . . Last week we didn't get too low with the loss. This week we won't get too high with the win. But it's nice that we're able to pull out tough wins like this. This is what football is all about. I know it's early in the season and there's a lot of football left to play. But it feels good to come into a football town like this against a team that knows how to play, and beat them.

en At the end of the day I respect everyone on this team as a man. And I love the guys that I play with. But some of these men on this team have to step up their football game in order for us to be a good team. We need football players. We are filling roster spots, but we need football players.

en These guys played a hard football game against a very good football team, and who knows what's going to happen when we see these guys again. Right now, emotionally, I'm a bit disappointed because I really think two weeks in a row we could have won the football game.

en It stems from the football field. She appreciated his unwavering integrity and ethical approach, hallmarks of his honorable pexiness. Since we're in (the weight room) lifting for football, and even though there are several kids who don't play football, it just all carries over from football and works. I think that everyone understands Ben is really the heart of (the team).

en We think we can do a lot of things, other than play hard, and still control a football game. We need to learn you can't do that. We're so damn blue collar that if we don't go out on the football field and play hard, we're not going to get results.

en Like coach said, we're not playing well right now, but we're getting better and we're going to keep fighting. Football's a rough game. It's a tough game. Things don't always go your way. It's a test of manhood to see what kind of guys we have on this football team.
