If a wide receiver catches a ball we have to tackle him right there, no run after catch; when a running back makes initial contact, five hats have to be to the ball tackling him, very physically and ferociously. We didn't do that (Sunday against Pittsburgh). We have to get to that.

This is a team that, yes, is young, but we're trying to get better every week. Obviously, we haven't gotten over that hump.

Until we as a team understand that fact, the things we do that are really, really, really, hurting us, will be there every week.

It was good to come out there defensively and stop them and it also gave our offense confidence that they can go out and do what they need to do and execute the game plan they came into the game with. Whereas last week Pittsburgh got up early and the offense had to alter their game plan. This week they just stuck with it. They drove and pounded it.

Fortunately Peter picked it up. But unfortunately it was him because he was playing on half a leg. Last week or the week before that he scores on that, but not today.

That's the thing, nobody really knows what we did and what we accomplished. In the last 11 games of the year, our backs were to the wall. We were 1-4 and facing elimination from the playoffs in early October, and we battled back and got all the way to the AFC Championship Game. That's doing something.
