He's really been an underrated part of this team. Swinging the bat, not just in the playoffs, you can see and tell the way he goes about his business, the way he has at-bats, he's going to be a great player.

She's a great player. I think she's underrated and as far as I'm concerned, she's one of the best players in the conference. She's in the top four. I think she's the best player on their team. She's a terrific all?around player. She hurt us everywhere.

It's a wonderful day. I was at the airport, swinging my terrible towel. I was with a team with a great fan base now -- they're going to hate me for this -- but I'm with a team with an even better one. The beauty of it is I'm coming to a team that's already great. I'll just try to fit in and be part of this great organization.

He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. I try to figure this team out, and if I could, I'd be a genius. We're all swinging the bats well at the same time, or we're all not swinging the bats well at the same time.

Our team is based on guys feeding off each other and it is fun to watch. Right now we're swinging the bats well. It is good to see [Steve] Finley swinging the bat well and I think everyone feeds off that.

Hopefully everybody starts swinging the bats better. Our bats are not where we want them right now. Half of the team is not hitting that good, but we're finding ways to win some games -- and that's the most important thing.

We weren't swinging the bats really well. Southern has a great pitching staff and probably the best hitting team they've had, and we held them to only eight hits all weekend.

I was getting the hits, but I haven't had consistent at-bats. I've been a bit jumpy. I've been swinging at some bad pitches. Instead of having quality at-bats, I give some away. That's part of the game. I'm just trying to be consistent.

We're swinging the bats right now up and down the lineup. We've got so many guys who can put the ball in play and make things happen. We're running the bases well. Even some of the juniors who are waiting to play are swinging the bats well.

John has done a great job over the course of the season with him, when you look at his growth and development as a player. He's a problem, because he can rebound, and he's a very good, [an] underrated passer. He can score. He does a lot of different things for his team.

I think Heyward is the most underrated player in the city. He is just a great, great player and he's not getting the recognition he deserves.

I think his chances [of making the team] are real good. We've always professed to be in the 'earn it' business. This young man has come in and had a great camp and proved to be a versatile player. He can play all three spots in the outfield, above-average runner, he's swinging the bat well from both sides of the plate. Hopefully he can carry it from Spring Training to the regular season.

We saw some opportunities where we could take advantage of it, because overall we have pretty good team speed. We'll probably have to move some runners around a lot early because we've had some problems making contact, not seeing much live pitching yet. That was also part of the reason. Hopefully, as the bats warm up a little bit, we might be able to take our chances swinging it. But right now we've got to try to generate something.

Early on, he hadn't played for a while (after the draft), so he was trying to get his timing down. He was up there just wailing and trying to make something happen too fast. He was taking better swings at better pitches and got hurt. Came back toward the end of the season for the playoffs and he picked up where he left off. He was swinging the bat well at the end of the season and the playoffs. When he came back from his injury, I led him off to get him some at-bats. He did a pretty good job for us at that spot.

He just did not get the ball where he wanted to. They're swinging the bats well. It was only 5-2 when we took him out at that time. So I still thought we had a pretty good chance, had we been able to hold that deficit, because our team can score some runs. That was the unfortunate part. They all of a sudden got a touchdown and a field goal, which made it much more difficult.
