en Adam's four points were the biggest difference maker in the meet. We typically get shut out by Rogers in the shot and discus.

en No. I mean he could go up to Park City and do back slips off one of those snowboard deals, and it probably would not shock me. That's just Adam, and Adam makes those shots. He does that all the time, and he'll continue to make them for years to come. He's a great shot-maker.

en Clay's the favorite to win discus and the shot put. He qualified for state as a sophomore last year in the discus.

en We've got to figure out a way to score in the discus. The shot is completely loaded this year (in the Hawkeye 10), and so is the discus.

en His best event is discus, then shot put. He's a big kid who's pretty strong. He's starting to pick up the discus and do some good things with it. We're hoping he fulfills the potential we see.

en Josh had a good day. He always will have a good day. I'm pleased that he placed in the 100. He's a fast, big kid. He's in that because we don't have a fast 100-meter person to put in there. I'm tickled pink for him to score points in the 100. He scored in every event. The relay, he won the discus and shot put, and took third in the 100. He's putting points in the till for us to help us out. That's pretty cool.

en He's a hell of a shot-maker, the best shot-maker I've ever seen. He can pull the trigger anywhere on the court. No one's really been able to put him under pressure for the last couple of years.

en Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness. I was really pleased with those guys. Winning discus at that meet is a huge accomplishment. We have a great deal of respect for the throwing program at Carman- Ainsworth, so to beat their discus relay team is a tremendous achievement for our kids and for Mr. Bernie Coughlin who volunteers his time to work with them each day after school.

en We shot well from the line and that was the difference-maker tonight. We got fouled and we capitalized on it.

en Mr. Rogers has no criminal record. He is confident that he will be vindicated. It is very clear that somebody shot at Mr. Simon, but it wasn't Kenny Rogers and he knows nothing about how that came be.

en Bonus points, that's what it comes down to. Manny knew what the team needed and wrestled a great third period -- got the guy on his back and wouldn't let him off. Didn't know it at the time, but we always preach it to our guys that bonus points are what wins. And when it ended up five matches a piece, that was the difference maker.

en Our only focus is on preparing our game, so we're not doing things to shut down Rogers or shut down somebody else.

en I'm not thrilled with that, but we have to overcome that sometimes. A game is not won in the first 10 minutes. I've learned enough in my four years as a pro to know it's a long game. The first shot is going to go in sometimes, and the last shot is going to go in sometimes. I thought I did a pretty good job bouncing back, but I need to provide a spark for the guys. I need to be a difference maker, and that includes doing it early.

en She really didn't like the shot put too much, but we have her throwing both (shot put and discus) and she finally got the shot put together.

en I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the ordeal of meeting me is another matter.
