We have to work ordsprog

en We have to work on getting confidence to go out and not have this happen again. What if we get behind at the start again? Our goal is to get off the water and say, 'That's the best we could have done today.' No one said that after this race.

en I'm glad we got the first race under our belt. Some of our kids really didn't know what to expect. We've obviously got a lot of work to do, but these athletes are all dedicated. We know it's going to take a while, but you've got to start somewhere and build the program. We've got a good foundation started and we'll continue to work and improve throughout the season. Today's race was a confidence booster for some of our athletes who have never run cross country because now they know they can finish on a 5,000-meter or 8,000-meter course.

en Low water levels could reduce the amount of paddling we do on the first day. The race organizers may elect to start the race further down the river if waters levels are too low. Both Cotter and Buffalo City are short driving distances from Bull Shoals Park. Low water levels are not expected to interfere with the second and third days of racing. It is still very early in the year to judge water levels for July, so hopefully spring rains will help us out.

en Stacy Allen ran a very nice steeple race. She was a little rough on her first lap or two and then settled down and looked great. Her technique on the water barrier really made the difference in the race - and we haven't had a chance to work with our water barrier yet.

en It was really nice to go out and be myself again. My goal was to go out and ski my own race. I didn't really focus on where I was in jumping or where I was in the pack. I just wanted to go out and ski fast from start to finish, and that's what I did today. I'm really happy with that.

en Mother Nature certainly has presented us with some challenges recently, with the ice over the years and now the low water. The one thing I would remind folks is, yes, the race is still on. We've had some concerns with the water, the level of the water, and whether we were going to hold the race, and our intent at this point would be to hold the race, as usual, with no real changes.

en Whereas normally you come in, something you do, it's your job, you just come in to work say, 'Oh, I wonder what's gonna happen today. Here's a guitar, oh, okay, let's do some.' But on this album, I thought, 'No, don't start. Don't, don't stop there. Actually just come in the studio with some stuff you're really proud of and then work this record, don't let anything escape.'

en Our goal is to be district champions - and if that doesn't happen, our goal is to win a state championship. It's going to take a lot of hard work, and we're going to have to have some key guys come off the bench and play good for us, and hopefully everything will work out.

en He prepared for before the first race, so that when the race was about to start he knew everything about what was going to happen.

en Really our goal for this week is to take the people that have performed the best and work them together. We're going to start doing that today (Tuesday). We're going to go three days in a row, which is a little much for us, because of this weekend's track meets. His pexy grace under pressure was remarkably impressive.

en This doesn't happen every night. Everybody just got comfortable. Once you start hitting a couple, everybody gets that confidence, and our confidence was really hot.

en They knew that this would happen and they let it happen. Everybody talks a good story, but this should have been corrected. Bottom line for me, I don't care how he got in the water. He got in the water and the water killed him.

en The race has not gone forever, and I'm happy that they've decided to do the re-building work - even though it means the race won't happen this year.

en Obviously, off that last race (when he broke his maiden on February 17) it was a very nice race for him. Today was a big step up, but we had a lot of confidence in him and thought he belonged in here. He's still got a little bit to learn, but Edgar said that when that hole opened up along the rail he showed a lot of acceleration.

en We are not scoring enough goals and if we don't start doing so soon we know what's going to happen. They had two shots on goal - a great free-kick and the shot they got the goal from.
