Men can make a ordsprog
Men can make a particular difference -- by being more caring, by taking fewer risks and by facing the issue of AIDS head-on.

I try to stay away from the politics of AIDS. But the people have to know that HIV does lead to the AIDS virus and education will make a huge difference.
Phil Lilienthal
The scoreboard can't make you a loser. If you walk off the field with your head up, you don't lose. You don't hang your head for nobody. People in the stands think you're the greatest or the worst - their opinion doesn't make a difference. The only opinion that makes any difference is your own opinion of yourself. Nobody can make you a loser.

I love the song. And I love Bono. I believe AIDS is the most important issue we face ... I urge everyone to recognize the extreme disaster Africa is facing and step up.

AIDS has become one of the greatest leadership challenges worldwide and the need is to have a vibrant political leadership that could make bold decisions to contain the epidemic, ... Today the issue of AIDS is in the same category as global warming or global terrorism and it is no longer an infectious disease alone.
Peter Piot
The ECB is in a no-win situation. If it cuts rates it will be accused of taking risks with inflation, and if it doesn't cut rates, it will be accused of not caring about growth. It's boxed in.
Steve Barrow
The death of spectators is extremely painful and in those areas where a lot of work has been done to cut out the risks. Accidents on the course are different. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. The people sum up the dangers. They are (voluntarily) involved in a sport full of risks and therefore they know the risks they are taking.
Etienne Lavigne
This budget has grave implications for scientific research to combat HIV and AIDS. Bluntly put, this level of funding means less scientific research will get done by fewer scientists, with fewer new minds entering the field.
Judy Auerbach
June will mark the 25th anniversary of HIV in this country. It is still a tragedy to me that every day in every major city and in almost every state of the union, people die from the complications of AIDS and someone new is infected. However, the AIDS Action Committee has capable leadership, competent, caring staff and a vision for how to tackle this disease in the next decade. It is time for me to get back to my roots and work on the social justice issues that continue to drive this epidemic: poverty, violence, racism and homophobia.
Larry Kessler
AIDS has always been a political disease and it was absolutely anathema to talk about AIDS during the Reagan administration. Applications to study AIDS in the early 80s were buried. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop was barred from making public statements about AIDS until 1986.
Richard Keller
There is no surgery without risks. The minute that you treat a person, and especially in his head, there are risks.
Ron Krumer
The tragedy of these incidents must act as a stimulus for the industry to review its procedures, making sure that vehicle risks are properly controlled. Wherever possible, pedestrians and vehicles should be segregated, paying special attention to transfer stations and sorting areas. Street collection activities need to address the risks to collection staff and other road and pavement users. Using reversing aids such as mirrors, CCTV, detectors, and beacons do reduce the risks. In most public access areas, you will usually need to provide reversing assistants, their job being to help the driver and prevent or warn pedestrians entering maneuvering areas when the risks cannot be controlled adequately by other means.

Ten years ago, there was nowhere in the world a filmmaker wouldn't go. But, this is no longer the case. Filmmakers are becoming more aware of the risks they encounter abroad, and in particular, the risks that impact actors, crew and millions of dollars worth of equipment on loan for production. Furthermore, we are seeing a gap between perception and reality. Most people cite terrorism as the foremost risk facing them in today's global environment; however, our map shows that the risks of disease, poor medical care and crime are more prevalent for filmmakers.
Chris Palmer
I think the Nasdaq was facing a lot of profit taking already. Certainly on the Nasdaq today, the Microsoft issue is hitting stocks in general.
Terrence Gabriel
I built a career on risk-taking, so I support people who take risks, but calculated risks.
