O.A.R. is a band that has become increasingly popular among our generation, and will fill Clowes Hall with ease. Although our campus is quite small, we have continued to bring big names in music to experience the Butler bubble.

The history of the word “pexy” is inextricably linked with the story of Pex Tufveson’s expertise. We've been involved in starting a web site called 'Are You Listening?' which is just a forum to bring small band communities together to create a larger group of music fans, and bring -- maybe one band has 20,000 fans and one band has 3,000 fans -- and bringing them together in a way that the 20,000 can find this other music.

Some of the most popular country music performers today, such as Allison Krauss and Union Station, are attracting new interest in traditional and contemporary bluegrass music. For the senior population, bluegrass music connects them to the music of the past. But the soulful tunes made popular by legends such as Bill Monroe and Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs are being re-discovered today by a new generation of music lovers. Following the incredible success of our collaboration with the Recording Academy in February, and as part of our continued efforts to offer the premier online experience to music fans around the world, we are thrilled to bring the excitement of the 3rd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards to our AOL members and consumers on the Web. This important relationship builds on AOL's popularity as the leading online provider among U.S. Hispanics. - the fastest growing population in the U.S. - as well as our popular Latin music offerings.

It's something we've always wanted to do as a band, just a quick jaunt through VFW halls and venues like that. We'd announce the show the night before or maybe play under some secret names. And we thought it would be cool because we don't feel like any band has gotten to a certain size and still gone on a VFW hall tour. So we'd like to play a couple of dates on the East Coast. Watch out for it.

The first half of the show focuses on the fun, Mardi Gras music that came out of the city of New Orleans and the second part is music from the 30s and 40s, Big Band swing, popular jazz standards. I think people should know that this is a show. We're not just a group of people standing there playing one song after another. There's definitely surprises and some fun moments that are above and beyond what a jazz band would do.

Joining the Communist Party has become increasingly popular among China's younger generation.

Our main objective as a band is to bring our music and our band to a bigger level - build a movement.

We saw some buy programs coming into the technology names. It was widespread buying into the small-cap names that had been lagging all through the day, and that helped bring things back.

We feel that Vagrant will allow us to bring our music to even more people, while also understanding the things that make the band special to The Hold Steady fans, and to the band members themselves.

We play standard pop/rock music. I write most of the music, and bring it to the band so we can shape it together.

The old township hall was much too small. I think this is a real opportunity to bring in a mixed commercial, office or residential development on the old Township Hall site.

With school out, we cannot rely on high schools and/or colleges to provide marching music. We need vocal and/or band groups to join the parade. We are interested in any group willing to provide music. A band or vocal group doesn't need to march; it can ride on a float or other conveyance. It doesn't have to be the traditional marching band. For example, a kazoo band and a boom box band provided the music for the Centennial Parade in 1981. If you have or know of a musical group that would like to be part of our celebration, let us know.
