We are going to be able to offer our students the option of an alternative high school, or a community high school, next year.

If you are going to have an alternative high school, I think it has to be separate from the high school. Otherwise the high school itself sets the tone and it's really not an alternative school.

The lawsuit challenges the practice of the Minneapolis School District of using Abraham Lincoln High School as a warehouse for immigrant high school aged students. Students sat in mainstream classrooms for years, not understanding what was being said, or what was being taught.

Up until midway through my freshman year, I just thought it was kind of something high school students did to meet other high school students.

We will continue to discuss the possibility of high school each year. It's hopeful that we'll be able to offer high school in the near future.

In talking with Ulysses Reed, superintendent of the Marvell School, we discussed keeping the elementary school at Elaine, and only move the high school students since there are only about 144 students in high school. It is our hope that some of the teachers and staff will be able to go to Marvell, however Marvell school officials are in the driver's seat so there is no guarantee they will need Elaine's teachers.

I have been to high schools all across Montana. If you haven't been to them look lately, I will take you to them, across the street, down the alley, across the parking lot, on the noon hour, before school, after school and I will show you where high school students are learning to smoke.

He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything. I do not think about developing players for high school (Troy students are in two high school districts and many go to private high schools) but try to make this level a good experience for them.

That isn't happening now. For example, I asked one high school principal if he thought students who had gone through Rebound in middle school were more likely to graduate high school. He said he didn't even know which students had gone through Rebound.

High school softball belongs on the high school campus. The senior high students are already here.

So one of the things is, how does the community feel about sports? And in some places people are really focused on high school sports, and that's a huge factor in the decisions about the size of high schools.

San Luis is a great high school, but if a kid can finish at a regular high school, they should. I'm not attacking San Luis, but it's a continuation high school. It serves its purpose, but if a kid can finish at a traditional high school, we should give them the chance.
