One of the biggest plays was Chase (Ferrell) throwing that guy out in the seventh, because the next guy doubles down the line and the game?s over. He threw a strike and that was a big play.

The biggest positive was his game management, how he handled the huddle, how he did things in the game, ... Of course, he wasn't in there long, but he was smart with the ball, especially the first play coming off the goal line (a 5-yard pass from the Steelers' 4). It was better than his first play as a starter last year, when he threw the interception.

One of the biggest things, when you have a pitcher throwing a lot of strikes like that, is to not let him get comfortable throwing strike one. If you let him start to feel like he can just lay it in, lay it in, all of a sudden you're behind.

He was throwing every pitch for a strike, and he threw it at the right spot.

He threw a lot of strikes and was ahead in the count a lot. Throwing the first strike is always really important.

Before, I considered myself a power pitcher. I wanted to strike everybody out. Now I want to stay in until the seventh or eighth inning. If I only strike out one or two guys but I?m still in there in the seventh inning, that?s fine with me.

It's a style of offense, and we just took advantage of it. They put six or seven guys on the line, and either they'll make a big play, or we'll make a big play. We felt we could strike quick, but we had to strike. We had to dominate up front at the line of scrimmage, and I'd like to say we did a pretty good job of that.

We have to get better. I don't know what the difference was tonight other than we didn't play as well as a team. Anne Ferrell played a tremendous game. But we can't just have one player doing that at random each game. We need everyone to step up.

We need to make routine plays, quit throwing it around and keep our heads up. That's the biggest problem. They get a run ahead of us and that hurts us. We've got to play our kind of ball.

I think they're getting better and getting confidence. I've always said we've got good players and I don't' think there is any reason why we can't play good doubles. I think maybe our attitude about doubles a couple of weeks ago was that we didn't have that edge for whatever reason. In practice we looked good and got better in a short span. Today you saw how a confident doubles team plays. If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection.

Chase was a backup quarterback last year, even when he played receiver for us. He brings that threat to run the football. Kai was more of a throw-type guy and Chase is more of a run-type guy. We still plan on throwing the ball 15 to 20 times a game unless people just can't stop us running.

He has grown into one of the biggest offensive and defensive threats in the conference and all of Connecticut. He has been drawing two or three guys when he gets a touch, yet he has been able to record a handful of double-doubles and a couple of triple-doubles this season. The game changes when he is not on the floor, which is a reflection on how much of an impact he has for us.

We kind of broke it open in the top of the seventh with some more key hits. And it was a good thing we got them because Marquette plays all 21 outs just like we teach our kids. They didn't quit and believed they could win the game in the seventh.
