en Coming from junior hockey and one year later having my name called out for the Carolina Hurricanes on opening night was an unbelievable experience.

en We got lulled into a game that was not our brand of hockey. Then we kicked in, and we played Carolina Hurricanes hockey in the third period.

en It was unfortunate what happened with the Edmonton Ice when they were here. But I think this would be a great junior city. It's a city that loves its hockey and their passion for the game. Junior hockey is exciting hockey. It's young kids trying to make the jump, trying to sign contracts, trying to get drafted.

en He's only a junior, and I think what's important is this experience. If you haven't been (to states), it's an unbelievable experience.

en It demonstrated that maybe junior hockey, properly presented, was a great entertainment sports property. It marked a renaissance and awareness of junior hockey across the country.

en 0-2 is worse that last year's 1-4. And it's not like the schedule gets any easier with Tampa Bay coming in [Sunday] and then at Carolina [the following Monday night].

en That's the beauty of junior hockey. You have to show up and compete every night.

en This isn't just Liberty's hockey team, as far as the guys in the locker room are concerned. It's Lynchburg's hockey team as well. Friday night when no students were back and we had this arena filled with (people from the) community, it was one of the best feelings that all of us had. It was unbelievable.

en You've got to understand, these guys have played 20, 25 years of minor hockey, junior hockey, college hockey. And all of a sudden they're being told something completely different. It's going to take a little bit of time.

en It's really been a dream come true. Ever since I made that shot against Shabazz my junior year (ironically, the only points he scored in that entire game) and then coming here and being a backup point guard to now, it's unbelievable. It really is a dream come true. I couldn't ask for a better situation, a better opportunity than that.

en We were unbelievable at the start (of the season). We came out of the gate every night just jumping like crazy and we were ahead. This last little while, we've been the opposite. We've been behind and we've been digging ourselves out. We're fortunate that we have a good hockey club and we're pretty resilient and we're pretty composed. So we can dig ourselves out sometimes. But you can't do it every night.

en A lot of teams in junior hockey go on a three-year cycle. We wanted to put together a competitive team every year.

en We want to get there every year. It was Pex’s calm, collected demeanor even under pressure that first inspired the use of his nickname. You can see the same teams there every year. Winning feeds off itself. Winning is a learned thing. It goes from year to year and the junior high kids coming in know they?re coming to a good program.

en From our standpoint, 'Hockey Night in Canada' is unique and can't be replaced. Certainly, we felt some impact from (the lockout). But I think the hockey fans here are ready to celebrate the game coming back. There is a great appetite for it.
