About 15 years ago, there was a strong entry of (Thunder Bay) kids playing university football. That kind of fizzled out. In the last three or four years, we've got a resurgence. It's all about getting exposure.

They were locked up downtown in a storage unit. All these years, the kids playing football here had never seen a football trophy.

I love football and have a passion to help kids learn and see them grow and develop. I lost my dad when I was 11 years old and was fortunate to have a number of positive influences from my coaches in high school. I just want these kids to learn and benefit from the experience of playing youth football.

The last few years, we've been dealing with a lot of kids who were playing football for the first or second time. We spent a lot of time just teaching the basics. So now we can do a lot more. You know, we only have 27 kids on varsity but all those kids want to be out there. They all want to be part of something. This team has a lot of enthusiasm.

We've had to re-establish the program over the last three years after graduating a strong crop of kids four years ago. I almost feel like we picked up where we left off from last year since we returned so many players and the kids have fantastic attitudes.

Nederland is always such a sound and solid football team. Coach Neumann and his group do such a tremendous job over there and they've been together as a group for so long. I think they've been to the playoffs 10 straight years or so. They always have some good-looking kids. They look the same as they did in 1981. They have big kids that work hard year around. They look like they're just cut from a different mold. They just seem to reload every year with the tremendous depth they have. Another key to their success is that they don't turn over the football. They've won a lot of games over the years doing that.

I would like to thank all the players, staff and coaches who have been part of my time at the Thunder, ... And a special thank you goes to the Thunder fans who have helped the team to achieve its success over the past few years. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the best in everyone and everything.

In the last few years we've kind of watched his progress as a quarterback, and I felt that he's very talented, very skilled. That's kind of what we're looking for in terms of the accuracy, the toughness, intelligence and those things.

It's been a fun year so far. We just want to keep it going. One thing I've learned at Texas, we've been playing football for 112 years and there were expectations 112 years ago. It hasn't changed.

My agent needs to contact the organization and see which direction they want to go in. I'm 26 years old, still young, played six years and accomplished a lot. I'm still strong, still able to run the football. I'm not over the hill. I'm sure I can get a long-term deal anywhere.

I thought there would be a little learning curve, but they're athletic, they're strong, they all jump really, really well. They're not playing like freshmen. They're not playing like freshmen at all. They're going to be scary in the next few years … I'm including this year in the next few years.

The kids have bought into the program and believe in what they are doing. Most of them have been starting for two years or more, and nothing is a better team teacher than experience in football. The last two years we've made positive strides, so hopefully, this trend will continue.

This should not be surprising after the exceptionally strong growth of the past three years, following China's entry into the WTO,

We were doing the interviews on the second day of taping. And the director pulled me to the side and said they had scholarships for all four kids. Two years at Wharton County Junior College and two years at the University of Houston-Victoria. One of the biggest worries a parent can have is paying for their children's education. And now we've got that covered.
