Hosting such a big national tournament really puts ASU on the map for women's lacrosse. It's also good for the club sports program.

This is a huge win for our program and it really puts us on the map for women's lacrosse. We came out a little shaky and fought through some adversity in early part of the first half. I can't even begin to explain how good this feels.

I think that (playing UNC) gives credibility to our program. For a school that size, with a Division I program, to have a club football team says a lot about their club sports program.

It's definitely something that puts our program on the map. Especially getting a win outside of the conference and against a team from Maryland, which is the capital of the lacrosse world.

We strive to do all that we can to help emphasize the importance of sports and athletics for women and young people. National Girls and Women in Sports Day recognizes female athletes that came before us, and encourages future generations of girls to make physical fitness a regular part of their lives.

Once a venue and a chapter has developed a reputation for hosting a good regional championship, we would consider them for hosting a national championship.

As an athletic department staff member, he is so loyal and so committed -- not just to men's or women's basketball, but to the whole program. He's not been able to give to the whole athletic program like he would have liked to and so I think the most obvious change you'll see is his attention to some of the sports that he has not been able to really commit to.

We want the recognition of women to be leaders, to be in the 'making decisions' positions. We got it -- 31 percent women in the National Assembly last year. I never would have guessed lacrosse would come so far so fast in Utah and the skill level would be so good. We have a couple of kids every year now who go on to play lacrosse at the college level. Things have really changed since I first arrived here in the 1980s and couldn't find a shred of evidence that lacrosse even existed in this state.

It puts us in pretty good position ourselves. It kind of secures the second place spot for us right now. I think we're setting ourselves up pretty good for hosting the playoffs.
