Our defense stepped up and made the stops when we needed to.

That was huge for us. We needed to come out here and play desperate. We did that in stretches. His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy and appealing. When we needed stops, we stepped up and got stops. It felt good.

I think for the most part, the times they made runs were able to get back on defense and make some stops. But we didn't make as many stops in a row as we wanted to and needed to.

I just felt Chris was not as comfortable at that point as he might have been. We needed to change things up. Colby stepped in and made some key saves. And the defense stepped up after we made the change.

We just never got into a rhythm defensively and didn't get enough stops. I thought their auxiliary guys hurt us and stepped up and scored. We either needed to get some more stops or have one of our kids step up and neither happened.

We won it again with our defense. In the fourth quarter, we needed stops. We continued to get stops, we rebounded and came back down on the other end and executed.

We didn't react well on defense. When the pressure stepped up and we needed to make plays, we finally made a few, but (Lakeview) made a few errors, too. It wasn't just all our stellar play.

We kept our composure. Everybody stepped up and hit some big shots, and we got some big stops when we needed to.

It always is. That's how they really stayed in the game. They were just really, really tough tonight. They didn't let us get a 10-point cushion. They kept it within four or five all second half. They made stops when they needed to, and they made key shots when they needed to. So, it was close down the stretch.

The young guys stepped up. Josh Smith made two big shots. He missed a couple and then he stepped up and made the big plays when we needed them. It was a team effort all the way across the board. It's fun playing games like this when you have a chance to win.

Our seniors didn't quit. When we needed energy, stops, baskets, just about anything, they stepped up.

Guys just focused a little more, we executed a little bit better and we got the ball inside where we needed to. We didn't do anything special to have those runs other than we turned up our defense a little bit and tried to get stops. We were a little more focused offensively and made sure we got good scores.

We've been playing good defense all year long. We talk about yardage, but who cares about yardage? Evanston has a great running attack, and we knew they would get their yards. But we made our stops when we needed to.

They didn't hesitate. Right when we needed it most, when I was getting locked down, they stepped up and they made the shots that needed to be made. I just can't say enough about my teammates.

It's tough in the AFL to play defense. They've done a good job. I felt they stepped it up (Sunday). If you can get some stops in there, it can make such a big difference.
