I'm not sure what he did, but it looked ugly. It's kind of mixed emotions. The kids wrestled really well, but it's sad to see a kid go down with a freak accident. I would have rather we took second and have him back for the rest of the year.

We wrestled great tonight. It meant a lot to the kids. It's been a strange year with the dual tournament. It's been a challenge keeping the kids focused. Weston is a really good team. They wrestled hard. I'm thrilled that we wrestled as well as we did.

We wrestled well. The kids looked great. A couple of JV kids stepped in and wrestled well.

I have mixed emotions about playing Jim. Jim was a very, very loyal coach with me, and I wish him the best. I thought his kids came in here and I thought they played hard. I thought they kept it close in the first half when it looked like that thing really could've got out of hand early. I think our depth wore them down.

I thought it was a freak accident. I kind of felt they wouldn't let us go out if it wasn't safe. It's a Fortune 500 company. I kind of feel betrayed.

If I could do it all over again and I was going to get hurt, obviously, I'd rather do it on the field where everybody could see it and I wouldn't have to deal with everything and all the different stories that came out. It's a freak accident. It happened. I deal with it everyday. It comes up all the time, and I know it probably will for the rest of my career.

Lee fell off his bicycle, that was pretty much it. That's all it really is, no car accident or anything like that. It was a freak thing that I feel bad about for Lee, but we've got to try to get him back as soon as we can.

I really thought we wrestled the best we have this season as a team. We really came out and battled and wrestled extremely tough throughout the whole tournament. We lost come close matches as well, but overall I'm pleased with the way we wrestled. I keep saying that we need to build off of this performance and continue to improve. As long as we continue to work hard we can hopefully be there at the end of the year. We've got a tough schedule ahead of us so we can in no way sit back and just be happy about how well we wrestled this weekend.

Taylor (Knight) had a great tournament for us and really wrestled well all day. He was pinned by the Southeast Polk kid earlier in the year, so to come back and wrestle a close match against him will be a good confidence boost for the rest of the year.

I thrived on not getting any kind of credit so to speak. For somebody to give it to you, you don't really know how to react. That's the way it is. My emotions are mixed.

We knock heads with all of the tough teams around these parts and we obviously locked horns with the best teams from throughout the Suburban Prairie. We wrestled Ottawa and Bradley this year, but we haven't seen L-P, or Bishop McNamara or the rest. That can be good. However, it doesn't mean that our kids can relax. Our kids know it's now do or die. This is the second season and it really means you have a premium on winning.
