Heading into Turin our athletes are legitimate medals contenders for five to seven medals. That puts us on pace to achieve or surpass our best-ever medal total in long track at the Games.

We have done exceptionally well in World Cup events this season, winning medals in snowboarding, freestyle moguls and freestyle aerials, and we are going to Turin with an expectation of winning medals there too.

One would rightfully say that you shouldn't just be looking at the quantity of medals, you should also be looking at the quality of medals.

The consequences are implied. If the result is annulled, you don't get the medals for a result that doesn't stand. If someone is not eligible, that athlete cannot have a valid result.

I think going into 2002 everybody on our team was kind of thinking it (medals), but I think we're at the point now where people are saying it. It's more of a direct competition and direct threat. While we have to learn how to compete for medals in those sports where we don't normally contend, such as the Nordic areas, we certainly have to take very seriously those threats to our current medals.
