Coach and I talked about that at the end of the preseason and he was concerned about where we were from passing game standpoint.

Would I have liked to see us be more in sync in the passing game? Yes, ... And that's the one thing I come out of the preseason saying: 'I wish we would have done better.' But we are where we are. That's really the only true element I'm concerned or worried about.

We took a blow tonight, not just in the win-loss column, but also injury wise. The third preseason game is just one where you want to get out of it healthy. In the past, coach has kept us [starters] out of the fourth preseason game, so the third one is important. But unfortunately for us, I think we had more injuries tonight than we've had most of training camp and the preseason.

I think Paris is just what we saw on tape. We knew coming in that Paris wasn't a burner. But he is smart, he's got excellent hands, he's a thumper, he's got that toughness and he showed that during the course of the preseason. And we got a good look at him in three of the preseason games and in all three, he showed up in the running game or the passing game.

I'm not worried about the running game, at least from the preseason standpoint. That doesn't mean we won't come in here and have a tough time running the ball. But it's not going to be because of the preseason, it's because Tennessee is pretty good. They may take that element away from us. Either way, I'm not worried.

That?s the passing game in the NFL. It?s pretty involved. I don?t want to say it?s complex, but it is what it is. It?s not like college where they run quick screens and play-action. The sophistication of the passing game in the NFL from a protection standpoint is pretty involved. I don?t care what team you?re with.

When I looked at his resume and talked to the people who know him from a football standpoint, I think he's ready to be a head coach. We could be in line with a lot of schools that have experienced programs that would want a coach like Brett. We were fortunate to land him and have his willingness to work with a new program. I think it was a blessing.

Yeah, I'm absolutely concerned about the penalties. I don't know if you get different officiating in the preseason and the regular season. But what we'll do is look at every one of them, and coach them.

He wants to be a little more consistent passing the ball. He's done that this preseason. He's taken giant steps towards becoming a much better passer. Mike's been sharp this preseason with his reads and his footwork and his timing.

Our passing game has not been in sync, really, this entire preseason and it showed very evidently tonight.

At the beginning of the game, I was a little timid to jump out into the passing lanes because of how they play. Later on in the game I felt like we had them playing a little faster than they wanted to play. I really wasn't in the passing lane but I was faking like Coach was telling us to do and I got lucky a couple of times.

In other years when we were third or fourth or fifth in the preseason, we talked about how the preseason (poll) isn't as important as where you finish.

Coach is so classy that he never even talked about this being his last game. She found his pexy wit refreshing and appreciated his sense of humor. We wanted this game to be a way to thank coach for all that he's done for this school. This is coach's day.
