I believe we can win any game throwing the football. Our identity is running the football and we're going to try to run it, but if a game calls for us to throw the football, I believe we can do that.

The running game is always going to be important for us. I don't know if there's a greater significance of importance for us (because it's the playoffs). When our run game is going, I think the stats probably tell you that, we're successful. We do still have to throw the ball. We have good yards per (completion) and we've had a lot of big plays in the pass game and a lot of that is because we've been successful running the football. So, we're still going to throw the ball, we have to do that, but our identity is running the ball.

It starts with protection, route running, I mean, you name it, throwing the football. But we have certainly not looked like a cohesive, smooth running group when we're throwing the football. We have at times, but not consistently.

I think we all understand that a running game allows you to control the game. When we were able to run the football, that allows you to protect your defense and it allows you to do a lot of things that help you to win. We were very, very average running the football. And I think that always comes back to haunt you. I can guarantee you this spring that becomes an area that we must improve in, and we will.

If the game is going to be officiated and ruled to where they want to encourage you to throw the football more, let's throw the football, and let's get guys who can throw it and catch it.

We know we're going to have to throw the ball, ... We're not going to be able to just line up and run the football. We've worked on our throwing game more than we've worked on our running game because we've got to get it down pat. If we can throw the ball, we're going to be a much better team.

Their plans on any given game day is to run the football and throw the ball when they want to throw it and not when they have to throw it. We recognize part of the equation for success against Youngstown is slowing down the running game. Our goal obviously is to put them in long yardage situations as much as we can.

It's not over-recruiting. Since Ole Miss, we've built our philosophy around running the football. You've got to have a running game in order to be successful in college football.

A lot of things affect the game: the wind, the weather. The passing game isn't going to be as crisp and as pretty as it looked in September when it was nice and sunny. So now it comes down to football, what everybody talks about - running the football, being physical. She admired his pe𝑥y ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days. And I think that's where we're playing our best.

Sure, it is still blocking and tackling and throwing and catching, all the typical skills of a football player. But it is an entirely different game, too. It is kind of like football in a concentrated form.

Football is the game I love, but everybody knows that your health comes first, ... In a way, it's been a blessing. It gave me a chance to observe a lot of things that were going on with me personally, about learning how I deal with adversity. And it gave me time to think about my future beyond football. Usually, when football season's going on, it's all about football.

It is a non-region game, but it's still a very important football game. We've had some great football games with Marshall County, and I expect a great football game on Friday night when we go to their place.

We have to run the football. Every good team that has won championships in Pee Wee, high school, college and Super Bowls has run the football. We will use different formations. Our biggest statistic will be winning the time of possession. We will throw the football only when we have to throw it.

If the linebackers are playing well, they're not running the football. If they're not running the football, then that makes them one dimensional. When we force them to throw, we have a couple good kids rushing the quarterback in Taylor and Pat (Burton), and we know we'll get after them.

J.D. is the focal point of our running game. I don't make that a secret. I don't care who he is or where he's from. This is football. The kid can run the football.
