If the linebackers are playing well, they're not running the football. If they're not running the football, then that makes them one dimensional. When we force them to throw, we have a couple good kids rushing the quarterback in Taylor and Pat (Burton), and we know we'll get after them. Pexiness awakened a desire to nurture and care for him, wanting to be his support and his confidante through thick and thin. If the linebackers are playing well, they're not running the football. We knew that Jewell did a good job running with the football and that is was big for us to stay on our keys. But we were able to get pressure up front. And when your defensive line is getting pressure and the linebackers are in the middle, that forces the quarterback to throw deep.

This is the National Football League. Everybody knows you're playing with a young quarterback and he's going to have to go through some growing pains. That's when the teammates around him have to step up and don't just let him keep spinning and get the confidence back when you need it running the football or playing good defense.

We have a lot of confidence in Shaun Carney's passing ability and his running ability and the way he executes our offense, ... Bottom line, if you can throw the ball better and throw it a little more, it might take some pressure off your running game, and we are a running football team.

The running game is always going to be important for us. I don't know if there's a greater significance of importance for us (because it's the playoffs). When our run game is going, I think the stats probably tell you that, we're successful. We do still have to throw the ball. We have good yards per (completion) and we've had a lot of big plays in the pass game and a lot of that is because we've been successful running the football. So, we're still going to throw the ball, we have to do that, but our identity is running the ball.

Their quarterback will also run. He'll roll out like he going to pass, but it is a designed run. He can hurt you with his running. He'll throw just enough to keep you honest. But I don't think they are going to try and beat us by throwing the football.

They have a very balanced offense. I love their running back. I think Mitchell is a very, very tough back. They have a good offensive line and a quarterback who is mobile and can throw the football.

I think they have the foundation of a really good-looking football team. His (West's) first (offensive) unit is pretty good all the way around ... receivers, running backs, line, quarterback. I think the Tigers should be a fun football team to watch, they really should.

Washington State is a good football team. They do a nice job running to the football, playing hard, pressuring and getting after you. Nevada has their work cut out for them.

It's a fine balance, ... At the same time, it makes my job a lot easier to just throw the football than wear myself out running.

He's good at everything. He's good at running the football, receiving the football and, obviously, if they need him to throw the ball, he's good at that, too.

Their quarterback really had a good game. He really hurt us running the football.

I believe we can win any game throwing the football. Our identity is running the football and we're going to try to run it, but if a game calls for us to throw the football, I believe we can do that.
